S14 brake upgrades

Hey guys,
I'm new here and just starting off an S14 project. First I've got to get some brakes to get through the legally required MoT and wondered what you reccomend. I'm going to be putting this thing up to around the 350 to 400bhp mark.

Well, Inifiniti q45 brakes are enough for most peoples needs and are significantly cheaper than 300zx brakes. BUT, the pad selection offered for them is miniscule. 300zx brakes on all 4's with your pads of choice and the proper master cylinder seem to be the way to go

Prepare to get flamed kiddo... ;p

Not by me of course,

Just keep in mind that you should read published online articles related to the components you're trying to upgrade on your S14 before hopping in here asking a question that's been covered A LOT. i reccomend www.240sx.org/faq as a start. Look up tutorials, and step by step how tos to find what fits the needs of your project.

The way you posed your question just begs for opinions probably irrelevant to your project and what you're trying to accomplish. I could pretty much answer your question by saying. 300zx swap, cause thas what i'm doing, understand? All you've accomplished by posting is telling us that you're new, you need some brakes and you want to make more horse power. Be as detailed as possible with your next post man.

I'm running Porterfield R4-S on my front q45's and they have held up at two track events so far. Same pads on stock s14 rears

wow. When I did my q45 swap, there was NO information on it because nobody seemed to have actually done it. Looks like there are a few of us, now. YAY! I'm not alone!

300zx for both fronts works well, too. Can get more options as far as pads go.

My q45's have only been to the track once. Used some SATISFIED pads. Were OK. Not spectacular.

First, i'd like to welcome you to Zilvia.net

Second, this topic of common brake upgrades for the 240sx has been covered a rediculous amount of times. Please utilize the readily available search function before starting a whole new thread by asking a question. Fact is, Zilvia has been around for a while and 9 times outta 10, the question you're asking has already been asked and answered several times over. By searching first, this keeps the forum less cluterred, keeps you from getting flamed by the rest of the members, and keeps us moderators from having to go in and pink/ban people because people took things too far in a thread and somebody got butthurt.

The search function is your friend!

- Jay
