Need suspension guru help: Front Spindle differences s13 4 lug vs s14 4 lug
First off, the car is a 93 240sx se coupe and is 4lug.
I recently traded for an s13 coupe and decided to do some suspension mods and wheel studs and etc. I got bc racing coilovers and got arp studs for camaro. I started with the rear, all went well. Move to the front, coilover goes on fine but my studs turn out to be loose in the hub. After a little research i figure out that i must have s14 front hubs. I buy evo arp studs and they work fine. So i go on without thinking about it much. Get the rear low and how i want it and move to the front and i ended up maxing out the adjustment(all three collars touching each other) I then find out that this is a fairly common thing and people just start taking out collars and etc. I wanted to know if i could get a shorter spring so i could leave all 3 collars on there. Call the guys i got the coilovers from and they talk directly to BC who says there should be no problem with slamming the front and they want pics of how i installed the coilovers. LOL So this got me thinking....is it possible i have s14 spindles and are they different as far as where/the height they mount at.? Does having the s14 hub effect wheel offset? Why would someone go through the trouble of putting s14 4lug hubs on an s13? Thanks a ton in advance. The car is perfectly fine right now, i just cant get the stance in the front that i want with the current setup. As long as nothing is effected in a negative way i will probably just take 2 of the 3 collars out. |
