I always prefer before hand.
2 reasons 1) I have an idea whether I should host the event or will it be a complete loss 2) If we end up with too many drivers I cannot accept the last minute drivers. People can share their experience from my last event, no traffic on the course and tons of track time. The more drivers the less you can drive and the less you will enjoy the track with just that many more people spinning out in front of you. |

You guys should ALWAYS be paying him in advance! Always.
Tracks and insurance have to be paid-for in advance, and it puts the host at risk. When drivers wait until the last minute to register, or register early but don't pay in advance, it makes it extremely difficult to put events on at all. He is doing you a great service; the least you could do is help him not lose money doing it. So don't be an ass. Pay the man so he can plan for the event. The car in the sig above is an r/c car, btw
