Ka24e with oversized forged Pistons
Background: I spun a bearing in my single cam ka so I need to do something about it.
I am buying a built ka24e block on Saturday with Polished crank H beam rods 9.0:1pistons .2 over bore cylinders Clevite bearings I have wrapped 4:2:1 headers and complete unrestricted exhaust (no cat, I have a resonator but I removed the baffle) and a k&n air filter... My question to you is; Do I NEED to upgrade my injectors, maf sensor, or anything else? As far as I know the polished crank, clevite bearings, and rods won't affect anything but my max rpm The thing that I'm not sure about is the oversized Pistons... will I need more fuel/ air than the factory components can handle? Thanks in advance for any help you could give to a beginner tuner who jumped all in after watching the scene for years without tinkering with his car |

Bearings and crank will not effect your max rpm....which will remain the same. Stock maf and injectors will be fine, perhaps with a tune you could turn out some marginal increase in power. Unless you plan to boost the motor, i'd just oversize the rod bearing and do the associated machine work and be done.

Thanks guys... Any idea how much power increase I could see from the factory 140hp to all the upgrades mentioned after the new built block.... I'm thinking at least 165hp... Think I'm close?
