Tires & Shocks
I am going to be in the market for 2 new tires. I currently have 225/35 tires on my rims, but they didn't provide much protection against road hazards, and I have since bent at least 1 rim. I am going to have them fixed and mounted with new tires. I am thinking of buying a pair of 215/40s. I like the look of the stretched tire, so I am going to go with no wider than a 225. What do you all think? I feel that the a sidewall height of 40 should be good for the potholes I encounter. Also, I bought a pair of KYB GR-2 shocks for my rear 18x9.5" wheels, but they have blown. So, now I am thinking of getting the AGX since I have those in the front and like them. Are there any others that I should consider?
Thanks!

yes. save and get coils. look at PBM, stance, tein, and megan or ksport if you simply cannot afford those other ones. but if your going shocks then idk. ive heard good things about koni. try them. agx is also another ok one. but dont quote me on that. haha

You live in Los Angeles land of the shitty road. If potholes and whatnot are causing you problems already do not get Coilovers expecting it to be better. LOL Arkansas boy above has no idea what he is talking about. PBM coilovers would be horrible here in Los Angeles. I would say a set of Koni's or AGX's with Espelier springs would be a nice setup for you. I actually ran Tokico blue with Espelier springs on my Silvia faced coupe and it was a very good ride. In fact it was a great for a street driven car.It lowered it some , stiffened it some but was not crazy bumpy ride like most JDM coilovers.
P.S. I run JDM coilovers here in my fastback and its not a great ride on our streets. Koni's with hypercoils are going in soon
