Personally I know many gay people; Who also say things are gay and make gay jokes just as most other people.

I don't see a reason why they shouldn't be allowed to marry. Let them be happy. The chances for them to adopt are much higher than a straight family. That means that you can give kids in foster care hope, happiness, and stability.

People don't, "choose" to be gay. I know people who have been caught in the struggle of denial growing up as a child. Going so far as forcing themselves to do what they think is, "normal". Eventually some end up finding out the truth while others end up fighting the struggle their whole life.

What if a man gets a sex change. Does that mean he can still marry a woman because he was born a man?

What about a hermaphrodite? Who are they allowed to marry?

I'm a Christian. Does that mean I disagree with gay marriage? No. Everyone is quick to say gay marriage is a sin. But so is causing people pain and agony.

So what would you think is a worse sin? Stopping people from marrying because you don't feel it's holy and causing them a lifetime of misery or allowing them to marry?

Everybody sins. Let them marry, it isn't a big deal.

The only people against it are the people who haven't had any real interaction with homosexuals. From how most speak, they act like gay people are sex crazed nymphos who want to fuck every living and breathing person that is their same gender.

They already can. You can be single and adopt. To be able to adopt you have to prove that you can provide a good and loving upbringing to a child. Single women or men can do this, so can gays or straights.

They even have there own adoption agency (its not uncommon for minorities to have adoption agencies that understand the unique problems that come with their particular group adopting children).

However they do have trouble in some states having the actual adoption being recognized when its a same sex couple. I think alabama and Utah are states where it is bared.

Do you realize how many children are abused, or end up dead because their BIRTH parents can't or won't care for them?

Gay unions and adoption help in both of those situations. Now, if you can't explain to your kids that people are different, and that they don't deserve to be ridiculed and condemned for not being just like you, then maybe you shouldn't be allowed to marry anyone or procreate yourself.

Thank you ThatGuy for that post. I'm glad to hear that there are parents out there who are raising there kids the way I was raised and the way I WILL raise my kids when I have them. Some times I feel like I'm one of only people who feels that way in the south.

People need to get off their high horses and realize that just because a group of people is different than themselves that they aren't any better.

So what you live to a different set of morals RUTH'LESS DET. Who's to say that your morals are right.

I'm going to guess you've based your assumptions off of some sort of religious views. And if I'm wrong so be it. I went to a private school and took lots of religion classes. I can promise you in %90 of the religions we studied one of the biggest pillars of their teachings were that you were not to judge another person and deem yourself better than anyone else.

Does anything somebody being gay does to hurt you? Has your life ever been negatively affected by somebody being gay? The worst thing I can imagine is being in a somewhat awkward social situation that could easily be laughed off during or after the fact or solved with an easy apology.

So what if they raise their kid to be more open minded and accepting to peoples differences? Or that its ok to be who ever you really are and to be comfortable with yourself.

Kids can't be shielded for ever or from everything.

I don't see anyone getting upset when somebody adopts a baby and raises to some religion they don't agree with.

Sorry for the long rant. but living with someone who is gay and realizing the kind of stuff (esp being in the south) she goes through for being gay I'm amazed at how people act. People in her own family refuse to talk to her because she has a girlfriend now. I mean really to tell someone you no longer love them because of who they happened to fall in love with is b.s.

Also I want you to know that I KNOW I'm no better than any other person out there. I have my own problems and vices. I just believe that people need to learn to let others live there own live and to live your own. I try not to judge people by the mistakes they make and I could only hope others do that for me too.

To me a measure of a person is the good things they choose to do in life.
