Yeah, get to KA-T.org, where they love KA's in all fashions, FWD, RWD, Trucks, Single cams, Dual cams, etc. Don't let the SR lovers here try to change you.

BTW, I've driven SR cars, RB cars and KA's. I still like the KA the best and thats why I'm keeping it. Say whatever you like

If you need advice call Full Race, ask for Eric. He has a single cam setup that is pretty nice.

(Did not read threw all the pages, so sorry if it was posted already)

If you want a reliable KA24e-T with a warrantee I would just buy a fully built block from HRT performance.
if you want to build it yourself you can possibly be dealing with defective parts. Besides HRT blocks come square decked as well, even compression to every cylinder!!!!
For a warranty on a boosted E engine I would trust HRT.
HRT Performance

is it worth it? that is the most important question for everything in life.
it all depends on you. what will make you happy and what you want. plenty of people will say that its not dual cam so its crap, or its not sr its crap, don't listen to them. if you want to do that than do it. everything has pros and cons. trust your gut more than your ears cause people will talk alot of shit. just do what will make you happy. if all else fails, you will learn something from it and than move on to something else.

GT spec SOHC's are machines. So damn scary.

Rebello makes good parts to freshen it up.

I'm tell you to do it. Vinnie is right, there is a retarded amount of history and pride that goes with the KAE.

infinitexsounds up north is a good man to ask about. He's got his shit down.

hours.... im not sure how you measure hours on a bike... its an 05 CRF 250 are procitcuit built motor, trial teck suspension, excel wheels, twin power flow kit, boysen quick shot, pro taper metal throttle tube, crt metal reusable oil filter, protaper oversized bars, procircuit clutch lever and body, works connection launch control, works onnections skid plate, works connection engine plugs, over sized front waved rotor, stock sized rear waved rotor.

thats all i can think off the top of my head. the bike runs alot better than it looks.

i was hoping to get around 3k for it

He was just offered a 750 barely used for $4000.
He thinks you can defenitely get it sold for around $2750. Markets bad and he doesn't feel that you could get $3000 for it right now.
It looks clean thats for sure, doesn't look to abused from the photos.

Save your dollars man. You should double up your money in a month or 2 if you focus on priorities.
If you sell your bike you will reach your goals in no time flat.
Selling your bike would be enough to get the HRT long block and your turbo parts.

You could even sell your stripped block on craigs list for $150, and the bottom end parts for another $150 on craigslist.

There's nothing wrong with spending money on the fruits of another mans labor.
Buying from a reputable shop rather than you building yourself is worth every penny spent.

Don't give up on the KAE though more than likely you will smoke most SR swapped 240's that were just swapped and bone stock on boost, with a few more donkey punches for shits and giggles. Don't believe all the crap you hear in zilvia, the KA is defenitely no underdog.

Ohh ok, well if i can sell the bike i hope so. The thing is every one where i live is like poor.... I put it on craigslist a few time and on mxclassifieds and i just get alotta views no calls or emails... i usually put 3k obo soooo.. idk...

Do you think it would be ok if i did just finish the bottom end and have it sit till i can make the money for the top end?? cuz i doubt anyones gonna buy my bike. When MXers here that u have a race built motor they instantly think you beat the shit out of it and it has problems non stop. I havent had one problem since i had the engine built... idk i needa find some way to make some money. I wanna go to the track so bad!! ha

Yeah you could start rebuilding the bottom end your self. Just make sure you build it with the right parts.
Make sure that you get the L28 oil sump or you will end up regretting your build in the long run.
get your crankshaft bullnosed and knife edged too.

Ohh ok so im gonna need a machin shop huh ??

I ordered the parts today. came out to 950.00 including shipping.

8.8 Cr arias pistons non silicone coating

eagle rods

engine main and rods bearings

So do you think i can get the oil pump off ebay ??

I found a rebuild kit but i think it comes with the stock oil pump.

Lemme look around and see what i find.... L28 oil pump.....:EDIT: found one.. around 70 bucks... looks like mine but this is for I6 huh ?? so oil delivery should be much greater.

Yeah you will need the L28 oil pump. It's a high volume pump for the KA24e at a fraction of the price of a TOGA high volume pump. KA's get alot of oil starvation after 5000RPM. L28 oil pump is an excellent upgrade for your KAe..

The KA24e oil pump uses a different gear to pump the oil. The ratio on the L28 is much better. Nissan should of just continued using the L28 pump for the KAE. as you can see they are infact identical.

Pistons Arrived today, i ordered the ARIAS 8.8 Cr ratio pistons since i figure thats a really good ratio for boosted engines. I dont have much experiance with ordering engine internals so i asked the guy as O&J about what he thinks are good and he said ARIAS have really held some high hp and lasted aswell.. So i hope these will handle the track conditions thats about to be thrown at em.

Hey guys for my info about KA24E Performance, KA24E Motor Engine / Performance. ... but yes it is capable, but you might want to build it with forged interanls, then turbo for the power you will need. but this source i get it to an google search..

damn dude sick, i cant wait to see it when its done. keep this thing alive as a build thread. im gonna be doing this soon, only a stock rebuild first on a extra ka24e that i bought. then im gonna pull my ka24e in my car and rebuild it with performance parts and a turbo it. im hoping i can get like 300-400hp out of it. so i can stil drive my 40 around and build a bomb motor. but i gotta finish some more stuff on my car to prepare for the motor. good luck with the build

although they used the KA in the SCCA GT3, im pretty sure nissan didnt design it to be hi-po, hence the reason they call it the truck engine. but as far as i know, the only thing that stops me from getting an SR is the fact that my KA just wont breakdown, or overheat (knock on wood). its gotten me from CA to VA round trip on cruise control and AC, along with spirited driving in the Angeles Crest Hwy from time to time. so theres no question that its reliable, just that if your gonna go the KA route, do it right.
