Intake pipe's on SR20det

What are you guys using for the replacement of that stupid ass rubber bendable pipe? (some kinda aftermarket intake form another car cut apart?)

I have been having boost fall off around 15-16 psi and i read somewhere that the rubber intake pipe is capable to crush around 15 lbs of boost. IS THIS TRUE?
If this is true it might be my problem of the boost dropping when it hits 15 psi(drops back down to 12-13 lbs) ( choking the turbo of air)????

Maybe if you have a dirty filter it will cave in. I highly dought it will crush with an open element.

yeah you'd need WAY more than 16 psi to do that

anyway, you can get metal pipes as part of a kit, or you can have one made.
or you can search and find the discussion that was had not too long ago

When i got my motor it had the cold pipe from a blitz intercooler hanging off of it, so i rigged an intake out of that, it looks way better and is much larger diameter than the stock rubber intake.

I got that crushing intake tube idea from a BLITZ turbo kit write up. I wasnt making it up. It sounded like a reasonable solution to my problem... Maybe my MAFS isnt allowing enough air through it..... i con't figure it out though.

Ah. The literature about it is kind of scary, but it looks right. Nice.
