S14 sr20det vtc clicking.
my car was running fine but the idle was at constant 1500rpm, so i tried reseting my tps @ .46v closed and it goes to 4.19v open, go to start it and now the vtc is constantly making a clicking sound. I unplug the tps and it goes away. The noise goes away if i rotate the tps sensor but then i notice that the vtc doesn't click when i accelerate. Everything is stock :injectors, turbo, ect.

Martin(R.S. Enthalpy) about the engagement points.
"VTC should engage once the ECU recognizes a change of state in the TPS value. Once engaged, it operates up to 5200rpms. so of course messing with the tps is going to change it most likely you're meme popping vtc rattle or gear is somewhat worn or if you are lucky but yet unlucky you're oil is low/old and read the fsm or iacv to adjust idle |

It definitely isn’t a rattle it’s 100% the solenoid clicking, I followed the fsm on setting idle, set voltage to .4-.5 make sure timing is at 15* with tps unplugged, I’m just saying when the value is at .46v and calibrate the tps it idles terrible and my solenoid constantly clicks. And it’s weird because I would set it up and it will run fine but if I shut off the car than start it again it’s runs either good or bad, like it can’t decide what to do.
