[NorCal 240SX] 2004 March Meet Discussions
NorCal 240SX 2004 March Meet Discussions
Feel free to post ideas for the next meet. Date: The meet will likely be on either March 13 (Saturday) or 14 (Sunday). Time: Probably starting in early afternoon and ending whenever. Location: Most people seem to prefer parking lots in the San Jose area, but go ahead and suggest other good locations. The location should be able to hold 60 or so parked cars with plenty of room to spare. www.NorCal240SX.org |

the Grant Ranch drivers meet seemed to be a good idea; people meeting with cars of different kinds, food which attracted many i am shure of!, and a decent location so we did'nt have to move arround due to police and complaints,
so? WHERE SHOULD WE HOLD SUCH A MEET? WHAT SHOULD WE HAVE PLANNED FOR SUCH A MEET? AND FOOD. BBQ?? EAT OUT?? B.Y.O.S" BRING YOUR OWN SHIT!"? well anyway, i was just throwing arround ideas. but i would like to see somethng going down in march! thanks, brandon

hmm, how about the JC mission college parking lot? Easily accessable from around the bay, just off 101. The parking lot pretty huge and a few minutes away from an indoor gokart track facility (speedring).

Never been to Tanforan mall (or even heard of it prior to today) but I guess I'll check it out sometime. I like how it's not in the South Bay where we usually have meets. (It's in San Bruno, for ppl who don't want to look it up.) Not sure that it'll save any driving time for Sacramento people though, cuz they'd have to go through SF. :P
Mission College... Anyone know for sure that they don't mind car meets, or any other colleges that don't? And I'm guessing any college campus'll require a daily parking permit, which I hope won't be a big deal for people ($1.50 or so). Is anyone familiar with Pleasanton Sports & Recreation Park? I've attached a pic of it. I know there's a big lot there but don't know if it's busy on weekends or if it has to be reserved. |

"Pleasanton Sports & Recreation Park" looks like a spot with more than enough space.

They have some nice parks there, like Blue Rock Springs and Dan Foli. There's a fee to park, but it's only like $2 or $3. Cops aren't bad if you're not acting stupid.

Since most people are from the San Jose area, I'd rather save Vallejo for later when the weather's more predictable.
So I guess people like the Pleasanton spot (for the wrong reasons but whatever). I'll still need to find out if that place will be available. I don't know if there's sports activities or whatnot there on weekends which would take up the parking lot. How packed is Stoneridge Mall on weekends? We had a meet there once (very long time ago) and there was plenty of space for our 10 or so cars. Anyone know what it's like there on weekends now, and if security would mind a car meet with about 50 cars? I'm thinking if we decide on that Pleasanton park and can't meet there for some reason, this might be a nice backup location. |
