sohc->dohc Swap

Hey guys imtrying to get this swap done or atleast the engine to fire up, but im a broke bastard. I was wondering if i can use the coil from sohc but just modify it so it connects to the harness, 2 of the 3 plugs fit fine. I know its easier to buy one and they arent that expensive, and that may be what i do if i get some money, but i was just hoping this would work. I dont know what the difference is between the 2 coils, hell i dont even know what the coild oes any help would be greatly appreciated

I've *heard* you can use SOHC coil, but I've never had any luck in doing so. Use DOHC.

Sochbat, quit post-whoring. If you have nothing useful to add, STFU.
This guy needs help because he's in the middle of a swap, not because he wants to frivolously swap engines for 10 extra hp.

thanks mrmephistopheles I'll give it a shot, if it doesnt work then no loss.

and sochbat, my sohc valves got bent to hell and the motor no longer ran. So why not put in an engine with 10 extra hp, since i already have a turbo manifold for it and everything else to turbo the motor from a previous 240. Plus im doing for fun because i just enjoy working on cars and gaining experience. So is it worth it if im doing it to get 10 extra hp?NO. Is it worth it to learn something and get 3 times as much hp as a sohc? i think so. If thats the way you look at working on cars id be interested to see what you have done to yours?
