S13 coupe trunk lock

When I bought my s13 coupe it did not come with a trunk lock. It took me awhile to find a lock online that wasn't the jdm emblem style and I finally have one. I have tried everything to get this thing in. The cylinder itself fits just fine but when the metal arm is connected in the back the lock will not fit in the gap because the arm keeps hitting the trunk wall. This probably shouldn't be this complicated to instal a lock. If there is a trick I'm missing please help I'm tired of driving around with a hole in my trunk.

There's a write up online...

Do you have a good coupe trunk latch ?

If you do you should be able to stick a finger in and push toward passenger taillight and it will open... Verify that first

i have the trunk latch. the lock cylinder i have fits perfectly with the lever arm and small metal clamp detached from it. there is no way it is the right lock because if you put the lock cylinder in like i just said and try to attach the lever arm it would be facing downwards and when you turn the key to unlock it would turn the lever downward instead of turning toward the trunk latch arm to open the trunk

Yea but I can't even find a normal lock for sale to compare it to. The only locks for sale online are jdm locks for 100 bucks and My coupe is to much of a turd for one of those lol
