Fuel Tank Protector Clips
So I've been doing some rust repair/prevention on my S14 and pulled the fuel tank to get access to some otherwise inaccessible areas. On the fuel tank protector (gavanized steel piece that sits between the tank and the subframe) there are these little metal clips that snap onto plastic 'buttons' on the fuel tank. Several of these were too rusted to remove without breaking, and now as I prepare to reassemble things, I am left without a way to mount the protector panel . All the parts sources I've checked show these clips as part of the Fuel Cell Protector, and as far as I can tell, you can't get them by themselves. Does anyone know of a source or alternative for these?

Not sure what you're looking for exactly, but I suspect the dealer has it:

Unfortunately I've already checked Courtesy Parts and verified in person at the a dealship parts desk, but the clips only show up as part of the Fuel Cell Protector (17285P)... you can see one approximated in the image, but it does not have it's own part number.
I have one good one that I was able to pull without breaking, when I get home I will post a photo to explain a bit more clearly. |

FYI I ordered a bunch of parts last week and threw in one of these in the order for the hell of it, even though in the catalog it didn't appear to be the right part. It was not the clip I am looking for.

This is the clip I'm talking about
http://imgur.com/cljJn9h Is the Tank Shield Clip the same part? I could swear that when I was taking the tank protector off that there was one c-clip, which is what I assumed was the part number you referenced above |
