510 sr swap help!
ok
so to start off. im new to the nissan scene. sold my sti to get rid of car payments and picked up a 73 510. well the original owner told me that the engine(not installed in the car) was pulled out of a running 240 sx with 87k miles. come to find out the engine is blown along with the whole chassis harness is ripped out of the car and looks like angel hair pasta. well i was thinking(dont know if this is doable or not) instead of rebuilding the ka and buying the painless wiring kit i could buy a front sr20 clip. i would use the engine with harness. and the chassis harness to wire up my car. i was also thinking i could custom fit a 240sx dash and with the clip cluster and to make it so i wouldnt have to deal with any wiring merging. then sell the rhd dash anyone have their opinions on this? |

the510realm.com and dimequarterly will have a lot of useful information
as a 510 owner. id beg not to chop up the dash for an s13 dash. the car is beautiful as it is. a rebuilt ka would be more then enough in that car. People that have the high hopes of an sr typically get in over their heads and end up parting out or selling their cars. Do something you can see yourself finishing in your time frame and budget. |

ya
reason i said to use the s13 dash was so i wouldnt have to deal with merging the wiring for that dash also. the dash has no gauges installed in it so i would have to source gauges as well i will see what happens |
