Piston clearance question
So, I have question. I have a redtop SR I'm in the process of rebuilding. The block is at the shop right now and they took some measurements for me today to see if I needed to bore the cylinders out. The measurement they got were-
Pistons (Grade 2) - 86.0044mm Cylinders (Grade 2) - 86.0552mm Giving me a clearance of .0508mm The factory specifies that clearance should not exceed .010-.030mm which mine does by .0208mm or .0008in. My question is would this really hurt me? As long as my piston rings are gapped correctly, it shouldn't really effect performance right?

Over bore and the correct size pistons is the only way to make it right. Don't be a cheap ass...

It has nothing to do with being a cheap ass, I'm not sure if I can afford to have the motor bored out and a new set of pistons. I was anticipating just replacing the rings, along with new bearings, HG, gasket set for the motor, etc.
