Ever seen these before: Pit Stop S14 KA Header
I saw this S14 header on ebay and they look pretty decent and similar to the Greddy design but for cheap. The qeustion is does any one have any experience with this product or seller?
P.S. I am aware that HP gains arent going to be huge, but for the price and the improved underhood looks it might just be worth it. Pit Stop Header

Look at this thing, yet another "JDM" part made in mexico or china to knock off something else. DOn't get me wrong, sometimes knockoffs are good, but they don't even show ANY angle where u can see the inside of the pipes, nor do they show you how thick the steel is (ie. cracking potential). JDM KA24 huh? Bullshit. This ranks right up there with this: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=79441 |

Pretty much every GReddy KA24 header cracked....and this is a knock-off. I highly doubt it'll be BETTER than the original.
But got $89, who cares! Get e new one every year...hehe. - Brian

HAHAHA! 52k yen! $510 US? PFFT!
Anyway, ya.. the main benefit of an aftermarket header (in my opinion) is that it eliminates the restrictive front-pipe. From the end of the stock header to the cat/fake cat, and meets with the exhaust directly. That thing doesn't seem like it will make good gains, especially since the only way to omit that front-pipe is sr20det downpipe and turbo, or full ka header (hotshot/pacesetter). -Jeff

if it fits on a kouki, 97-98 and works with oem downpipe, then you can get that upper piece and put an sr downpipe on it. as sr downpipes bolted directly onto kouki front pipes and hit the stock resonator perfectly.

I believe that there is a flange rotation issue.. you'd need to cut, rotate and weld that 3" 3-bolt flange on the sr downpipe.

I agree with Yoshi on the misrepresentation of "JDM". From what I understand Greddy had issues with cracking in multiple areas on their peice (supposedly poor estimation of the forces exerted on the manifold by the engine movement or so I'm told), but where is a manifold like this most prone to crack?

The Greddy ones cracked at the flange that bolts to the "downpipe". That header looks shiny... and that's about it. It's not anywhere close to equal length, and you still use the stock "downpipe". Will someone figure it out already and make a full length, equal lenght 4 ---> 1 header?!

my greddy header seemed to have an issue of cracking at the flange to the head and not the downpipe one. SR downpipe currently bolted up to it too, going to a test pipe then exhaust, all 3''. low end loss? pft.
that one isn't similar to the greddy one at all anyway. those have been for sale for quite a while by some other ebay seller but doesn't list them as jdm. theyve been going for 60-90. |
