Can't remember who asked about the bolt size and pattern that is used with the Xcessive Trans Mount Bracket. It's a 1in x 3/8 8.8 Grade fine thread bolt. Hope the info gets back to whoever needed it.

I have my mount kit from them but I'm using a W59 trans and I think they sent me a r154 instead because the bolts are to wide in depth for the mount |

It was supposed to be a quick and easy swap but I've gotten a little bit carried away with it. I'm wiring up some new sensors for engine protection and I'm also putting in new brakes/rotors etc -but really the brakes needed some attention anyways -at least that's what I'm telling myself. :/ It should be back on the road in about a week. Oh and one more thing, the Lexus GX470 driveshaft fits the V160 mount and will save you some $$ over buying a used TT Supra ds. |

^Very nice...great upgrade with the V160. I unfortunately couldnt afford it this time around but possibly in the future. The Q45 diff swap is a killer upgrade for sure. Like you I started off with a simple swap in mind and now 2 years later have literally touched upon every aspect of this car.
Keep us posted on your upgrade. |

Hey guys, i plan on buying this turbo kit from Driftmotion: Welcome to Driftmotion!
My knowledge of turbos is pretty limited no matter how much i try to read about them. So i was wondering, for a street/drift car should i go with the .58AR or the .70AR? From my understanding, the .58 will spool faster but doesnt provide much power in the top end of the RPMs, so for drifting purposes i assume i should get the .70? I eventually want the car to put down about 400HP and if im understanding things correctly, the smaller AR the turbo has the harder it woul be to squeeze more power out of it, correct? |

When I was shopping for a turbo I decided on the Precision 6266 .68a/r for street/drifting due to the displacement of the 3L 2jz and research from folks that have done it of course. I felt comfortable running the larger turbo (6266 over 6262) and that a/r without fear of getting a laggy setup. On the 1jz I would probably stick to the smaller a/r. I doubt you will have trouble cracking 400rwhp with that setup and have wicked response from the .58ar

^In the same boat lol, I decided on the 6262 .68a/r on the 1j. On the sr full boost was around 4200 and I was happy with that, I think it should be right around there.

I' running the v160 with the 3.54 q45 diff. i Love it, i wish it were easier to switch to the 3.13 ring and pinion to make the gearing the same as the supra for long trips but for now it suits me just fine. i got a deal on the trans and by the time i bought a clutch, r154, shifter extension, and bellhousing, it wouldn't have been that much cheaper than a v160 |

I ran a eBay t70 with .68 AR and I touched 372hp on a dynapac +20psi with water meth. Boost came on fast. I run a Holset HX40 with. 90 AR. I get 18psi at 4k.

it took a lot more time and energy that i expected but when i was r154 i put the 97+ Q45 3.69 r & p onto my s14 OBX diff and made it fit into the s14 stock housing. it worked really well with the r154 and i learned a lot about differentials. that being said i think i could probably figure out how to put the 3.13 ring & pinion from a Pathfinder diff onto the Q45 diff if I had a Pathfinder diff to play with or maybe even possibly the 350z 3.35 r & p would fit. i'm thinking about giving it a try eventually but right now i just want to get the car back together and drive it a little bit. i put together some excel speadsheets showing the effect on speed/rpm using V160 with the 4.08, 3.69, 3.35, and 3.13. how much power are you putting down 2jzs14? do you do any drag racing or would you just want the better gear ratio for long trip and cruising? |

Also, i dont believer the 3.13 ring gear will fit into the s14 r200 case. my understanding is that the 3.13 r200 case is slightly bigger at the top or bottom for the lardger ring gear. The 350z and pathfinder diff also require widening the front mounting points of the to the subframe. |

Not sure if anyone had the same situation but the Xcessive Mounts are great quality but are not direct drop in and bolt on. There is def a left and right side though the instructions say that they can be used on either side. I had to thread 2 new places on the block where the Pass Side bracket bolts into. There was pretty much no other way to have the motor sit far back enough unless I did that. The Driver Side dropped in no issue. Luckily I had the tools to create the needed threads. The Trans Mount also had to be cut and tweaked a bit to let the trans fit and bolt onto the chassis.
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up....unless I had a different experience because I bought one of the first sets of brackets. |

Drift Freaqs mounts. They allow the motor to sit just high enough to clear the sway bars up front. My uncle and I put the engine brackets in every configuration to make sure they were right and there was only one way to go in. If you put them on the "wrong" way the motor sits so far forward you would need to cut about 2 inches (on s14) where the rad sits. The trans starter location was hitting the trans bracket and we had to cut and open up the mounting bolt locations. I snapped a pic of the motor setup I will postup in a bit.

Do you have the new brackets with the added gussets? Pics of the engine mounts installed? Did you install the brackets with them angling back towards the trans?

I just looked at 2 different motors with these brackets on yesterday. Although they were in cressidas.
I have their mount kit with their motor mounts. I won't be able to try the fitment untill next Saturday or so. |
