Friends Garage Fire, Donations Appreciated!
Hey guys. I’m going to get right to the point with this one. On January 10th of this year, a horrible thing in my life happened. My best friend’s garage caught on fire, and everything was lost. A little bit about my friend, his name is Kyle and he is a great friend and a great person. And we are lucky to still have him here today. His father owned the garage that caught on fire, but Kyle worked there every day. He worked on friends’ cars, friends of friends’ cars, family of friends’ cars, you name it, and he did most of his work for free. Many people have benefitted from his service and his friendship. Now onto the night of January 10th, 2012. Kyle was working on a car; a freak accident happened and ensued a fire. Everything was lost. His fathers’ 1950 Ford, his fathers’ tools, the customer car, and the point of this post, Kyle’s 1983 Ford Mustang. His fathers’ car, tools, and the customer car were all covered by insurance. Kyle’s car wasn’t. The story of the Mustang is a classic one. Kyle is 19, he has been working on his car for THREE years (at the garage) and has poured his heart, soul, blood, sweat, tears, money… you name it; into this car, building it from the ground up. It was a 1983 with a 1992 front end swap, 347 stroker carbed motor, full MSD ignition, electric water pump… blah blah blah. So much money was into this car, all lost. And I’m assuming most of you are car people, imagine something like this happening. We were so close on this car, maybe a full day’s work away from driving it finished for the first time. Now, from one car guy to another and one best friend to another. I want to try and raise money to buy Kyle a shell, to start over and stay in the game, to help him get back on the horse and get him going again. I don’t expect enough money to buy a full running driving monster of a car (what’s the fun in that anyway?!), I would just like to be able to purchase a shell of a car, maybe even some parts and be able to give it to Kyle along with some motivation. About Kyle’s condition (as he was in the garage during the fire), he is currently still in the hospital. He burned his right leg from his knee to his ankle 360degrees. The burns are 65% second degree burns and 35% third degree burns. He should be out of the hospital by the end of the week, and back to normal a short period after that. So if you could please donate some money, even if it’s just $1, to help a true car enthusiast to get back on the horse, it would be much appreciated. My PayPal address is below, just put “donation” in the subject line. Also if you have any questions or anything you can PM me, or email me. (E-mail address is below as well.) I will update this post with what shell we buy, this is 100% happening!
