i was under the impression that they took the a Transverse GTiR drivetrain, and dumped it in an S chassis. hence the top mount intercooled AWD. i never seen any engine shots of the ACTUAL 270R I wish nismo would have made a Kouki version of the 270R... GOD |

I agree with most everybody, take it back 100% stock and hold onto it; slaughter a standard model. I really wish it had the top mount on it, I've always wondered how that all fit under the hood.
On second thought buy you a nice set of wheels, in better fitment/sizes and leave the 270 wheels at the house. I don't see any reason to keep the fitment period, just so long as you don't have to modify the fenders. You can always put the standard wheels back on.

While I think the 270R is exceedingly ugly, its completely fucking awesome that you have one! Definitely a piece of Nissan history right there. I'd love to see some shots of the rear seats, it looks like they're the same pattern as the fronts. I've seen one of those front seats on Up Garage before I didn't realize it was a 270R seat though.

Pretty legit. I'd get those vinyls back on there. But maybe a new paint job first. Make it look like it just rolled out of the factory.
edit: I think the only car more rare than this one would be the Nismo 400R.

and the cluster and the steering wheel and the Nismo tuned suspension and the chassis bracing and the obvious body pieces other than that yeah, is mainly a 270hp version of the SR... |

Something to cherish. Never seen anyone own one of these before. Id make it as original as possible and keep it clean and classy. You know if you fuck this one up your head is on the chopping block lol.

Agreed with others that the hood scoop looks very odd and funky and doesn't go well with the car's overall look. That's probably the only flaw I'd point out.
Hopefully, the owner will give it necessary exercise every once in a while to keep the engine fresh and healthy. An absolute piece of history right there. |

I've heard of one here in Toronto. The guy's dad has business interests in Japan and the local arm was able to get him one. I hope to have a shot of it soon to share. All in all, nice to see a reliably tuned SR from factory. |

I didn't see the need to go into detail, since google could certainly cover what this thread hasn't. But in general, the car would be considered lightly modified by virtually any standard. Reorienting the engine, AWD, etc. is certainly not lightly modified. I didn't say it wasn't cool, but it's not some crazy custom hack job.
