idle and walbro question
Alright so My sr20det is finally running right, not misfiring or anything like that but my idle is a little bit high (shop had to weld a crack in my intake manifold and they "checked timing"...i guess messed with idle to
Anyways it idles right around 1600 rpm's.... Can i just turn down the idle screw or will i need to re-set the timing when i do that? Also, i ordered a walbro 255, can i install it or do i have to worry about a tune for the larger pump? Thanks! |

you can adjust the IACV without messing with the timing
No retune needed for bigger fuel pump.

About a hundred bucks for a decent one. A lot of guys have used stock fpr's with Walbros but I wouldn't.

a FPR is not really needed, good to have for tunning purposes.
Wont hurt anything.

If you do buy an Fpr, I wouldn't recommend getting a rep. Buy authentic, I made a rookie mistake and purchased a knockoff aeromotive when I made my turbo/fuel upgrade and was having fuel drop problems. Swapped with authentic Aeromotive and problem solved.

Did they take off the intake mani to weld? Air leak and they raised idle to hide it. IDK. Sounds fishy that it idles so high then they set timing. Should reshoot timing after lowering idle rpm.
I run a Walbro, didn't change anything. I use a Tomei fpr with Tomei adapter. |
