KA Rebuilding my SOHC

I've decided to go ahead and rebuild my KA24E. Didn't know if anyone out there had done this too and had some vital or good information to relay beforehand. Such as what products people are using, all of what they've replaced/I should replace, and anything of interest they discovered 1/2 way through that they wish they knew when they started.

Also putting in a new clutch/flywheel and probably doin a tranny rebuild w/synchros.

For starters youll need some oem components, if you got the cash I would build up the internals for boost that way you can always KA-T it. Definatly get a new OEM timing chain kit and OEM water pump as the generic store bought stuff is pretty cheap and breaks often and your water pump and timing chain are really important. Look into getting a decent head gasket, again to withstand power. For this kind of information I recommend NICO and KA-T.org. Good luck! I might be rebuilding my daily drivers SOHC in the near future.

Get a light weight flywheel and a nice clutch, dont know what your goal for this car is but KAs really open up with a nice light flywheel, my DOHC KA-T revs really freely with the new Fidanza 11lb flywheel I have and my RPS MAX street Clutch was a great investment, also eliminate the dampner loop - dampner loops FTL
