My son's car broke in clifton/grand junction
I logged on on behalf of my son, John, who's car is broke down near grand junction. I am relaying a message from a phone conversation from my son who is stranded in clifton/grand junction, CO.
He drives a S14 w/s14 blacktop zenki. I am describing the issue to the best of my ability. While he was driving today at 60mph there was a sputter (most likely a exhaust leak) from turbo header to turbo (4 bolt flange). Once he started the car in 1st gear, it seemed as if the exhaust wasnt spooling the turbo therefore making little to no power, he was told the 4 bolts that connected the turbo to turbo header was loose. Can tighting the 4 bolts fix the problem? Is there anywhere in colorado near grand junction where he is stranded to get his car fix? Since this is an emergency and if you are familiar with this sort of problem, can you contact my son, John, immediately. He can be reached at 847-276-1990. |

Here's what he needs.
Exactly what he needs from what I'm reading. I know its a ebay link, but I'm not the one selling this item. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...299463672&rd=1 |

Tighten the bolts. If the gasket is gone get a 300zx Turbo (z32) one from the parts store.

Either your turbo fell off your manifold or it is near falling off. Excessive exhaust leak might cause a lag, but not to a point where the turbo won't spool and causing the car to be stranded. That means Majority of the hot exhaust gas of exiting through the leak and not the turbine of the turbo. I hope replacing the gasket and tightening up the bolts will fix it. GLWS
