you want the best, do it custom. That way you get to pick fitment and whatnot. Many popular companies sell just the can of their catbacks. Most of what you are asking for is all personal preference so we really cant help you.

for 600 I would get a name brand muffler and make my own exhaust.....then use the remaining 200 +/- for other neat car doodads.
But if you wanna buy a catback run HKS, they have a really good sound and seem to hold up very well

the blitz nur-spec sounds mean on an sr. Don't know how it would sound on a ka-t though. I perosnally have the greddy ti-c and love it. Sounds good and isn't too loud.

BC Spec 2 stealthy? WTF? Stealthy would never be the word I would use to describe the BC Spec 2.
I've always considered the Blitz Nur Spec R as my choice exhaust. Sounds, looks, and performs great. Here's a clip of one on a stock KA YouTube - S14 240sx Blitz Nur Spec R Exhaust KA24DE

Just go through the exhaust thread and take your pic. Live and learn, man. Make a guesstimate as to what you want in a catback exhaust, and then purchase. If you don't like it, get rid of it. It's your exhaust, so you will be the only one who knows what is best.
For me, I just went with a custom exhaust with a "turbo" muffler, but still felt heavy reduction in performance. Before I was running an Apex'I N1 exhaust, and boy it was f***ing loud! Had to make it less detectable and 'under the radar'. My two cents.

Like people stated, it all comes down to personal preference. Do you want a quiet or loud exhaust? Do you want 3" piping or bigger? Do you want it to look stockish or not? Ive had Nur Spec, buddy club...but if id do it over again...Id get an Apex'i GT-Spec exhaust. Largest piping you can get.

man, I run around in the bay area with my 3 inch straight pipe exhaust on my sr all day. sure it's loud, but if you don't drive like an idiot you can stay under the radar with any exhaust. I would like to get a real exhaust some day though, the blitz nur spec r sounds amazing.

Then thats all it takes for them to tow you shit after tehy find the SR under the hood after they tell him to pop it. Why does everybody in CA think that if you dont drive like a douche, that automatically makes you immune to getting harassed? Specially in Sacramento where theyve been cracking down on modded cars in the last 2 yrs. |

Got pulled over by a cop in Montreal for my exhaust. I've been running 3" straight with modded S14 Trust pipes for the past 1.5 years on my 180sx.
Thing is, in the US law says the muffler cant be louder then 95 dB. But in Canada, they dont care about dB, only that is hasent got to be freeflow (baffles) So, considering law, i'd go with an Apex'I Noir or Blitz Realize TT. But, fuck law, and get yourself a Nur spec/ HKS / Blitz etc or anything that sounds nice to you. |
