S15 steering rack question...

So my rack is leaking... I have a 99 s15 spec s.

I was wondering if s13/s14 parts will work with my car..

Please help.

Thanks!

I doubt a US spec s13 or S14 will since i am assuming your car is RHD. The spot where the steering shaft connects is on the opposite side if i recall correctly.

Call around to parts houses and see who has a RHD rack from a clip laying around. Should be cheap since they are in low demand.

Do a google search and see if you can find the closest place to you that imports engine clips. Drive up there and tell them you want to get a power steering rack off one of the clips if possible. Either that or post up a WTB thread and you might get lucky off somebody getting rid of their empty clip. Not 100% sure they are all the same across the board (probably are the same across the board) but I'd personally look for an S14 just to be sure since S14s are alot more similar to the S15s. Alot of the underpinning like suspension, exhaust, etc are the same between the 2 chassis.

i see lots of places where they do rack and pinions rebuildts, also places that do custom one for race, drag cars etc. when you rebuilt the rack you pretty much just replace all the seals.

I used to go thru Venus Auto in Sacramento California...hit them up and they might be able to help you out. Hit up JSPEC Sam or Phase2, you might get lucky and they have a clip laying around.
