S14 Rear end clunk when cornering or under heavy throttle

It seems ever since i have upgraded to larger and larger wheels my rear end has been expereincing some clunking under heavy throttle or under right corners.

It has an aftermarket locking LSD (still dont know what kind, came from Japan land in the pumpkin)

Currently running 18x10.5's out back.

It persists throughout the corner and until i point the car streight, if i hit full boost after a corner it will also happen.

if you can visualize the noise it sounds like:

slug-lug-lug-lug-lug (proportional to speed)

Thanks guys

Last time the Dif saw new fluid was last year

Check tires.
Check clearance.
Check anywhere your suspension bolts up.
Check bushings, especially your rear subframe bushings.
If you havent already taken care of those.

If those are all good, check the shimming and tolerances on your lsd.

Clearance is fine, i had this issue with my 18x10 +20's and with my 18x10.5 +15's, ive rolled the fenders to add.

It sounds almost like it is coming from the rear left, or maybe just center (diff). This is a right hand drive so i hear everything from my left..

the wheels+tires are not hitting anything

could it be an axle? im thinking of taking off the diff cover and checking her out, maybe dropping it too.

Kaaz lsds can make that noise when they don't have the proper fluid in them

Thats what i was thinking, considering the larger tires. new stress is being put on the LSD So its not binding properly.

ill take a look and see whats inside!

I would agree if the noise was dependant on how the suspension moves, but it doesnt have anything to do with that. You would get the same frequency of "lug lug lug lug's" if you were to tie a rubber strap to the axel and have it whip around in the wheel well.

Did you ever figure this issue out? I'm having the same problem in my s14, clunking from rear under hard right turns.

I'm siding with the other guys who said Subframe bushing, but also throwing out Differential Bushings. Sersiously check them. If you haven't already.
