s13 intercooler piping
alright , i know intercooler piping is a sinch to install and i've done it countless times.
but im trying to figure out what kit to use with my scenario. buddy of mine is doing a S14 SR swap into his s13. so my dilemma is... what intercooler kit to buy ? do you have to mix and match with a s13 and s14 kit ? or will a s14 kit work ? or maybe even ca18 kit ? thanks guys |

all i did was take 3 inches out of the hot pipe so that the hood would close. everything else fit. check out my build thread there is more info and pics on this entire swap in there.

sweet thanks alot man. build thread helps me alot.
i just dont understand how yoou said that you took out 3 inches from the straight section on the hotpipe .. i dont see any welds , plus how would shortening the straight section let you have more hood clearance ... it would only shorten the pipe. can you clarify that for me ? |

i took 3 inches out from where the pipe turns down to go through the body. therefore lowering the pipe enough for the hood to clear. if you look at the pics in there you should be able to tell. or when you get the intercooler and pipes in your car you will see where it needs to be cut.

Or you could get a powered by max kit and not have to worry about cutting and welding the piping back together.
But your piping should be for the motor, not the chassis.
