First 240sx

Hi all, I'm new to the forum. Just picked up a 89 240sx bone stock.
I'm planning to make it a daily and weekend drifter. There are a couple of things I noticed about the car.
1. The previous owner made a homemade intake boot, so the valve cover breather hose has nothing to connect to. (see Pic)
2. The engine idles fine but rocks roughly side to side while idling. I checked all injectors and they all work well.
3. When I give it a little gas I believe I'm hearing the lifters rattle but, after a certain RPM it goes away. I've used Gummout engine treatment, which is better than Seafoam in the engine and gas. I have to run it through the intake and the engine again, which means I have to change the oil again. The car has been sitting for a while. It starts right up. I also changed the spark plugs. Engine seems to run smoother.
4. In one of the pics I'm holding a wire but, not sure what it connects to.

'm looking to find out what needs to be done to bring the car to good shape?
I would appreciate all the feedback I can get.
Thanks in advance!

the rattle you are hearing is likely the timing chain guide. If you google it there should be threads that show you how to remove it and fix that. As for the rocking maybe a bad motor mount?

Thanks for the reply. I did see a youtube video where a guy measured and cut an adapter that fitted on to the solenoid after the spring, which extended the length of the solenoid. Not hard to do, just mark timing and don't let go of the chain. LOL
