Mannykiller's Fd3s Drift build project: #Thisisthewolf
Whats up guys, well first off my name isn't manny. Its Aaron P..... mannykiller is just a name I came up for forums because I had a guy try to sell my motor out of the shop he owned. His name was manny...and was a little philipean guy that I would deck in the jaw if I ever saw him again. Either way I got my stuff back thanks to some guys ratting out his location and the location of my stuff. Onto the good stuff though. I bought a Fd almost 3 years ago and blew an oil control ring about a year into that. I've been building the car for almost 2 years now and it's getting close to being finished. I figured i'd share my build with you guys. I love drifting, and I love dricing on the steet. Yes I live in CA about 20 min from Willow Springs international raceway..so just drift and all the good stuff is very close to me. I also enjoy track days and time attack... I've geared this build towards being able to let me participate in all the fun stuff. So onto the good stuff. The pics...
Epic build opener me ane my buddy Evan pulling the motor before Last edited by Mannykiller; 01-02-2016 at 09:43 PM.. Reason: Because no Trash Talk |

My heat exchanger design
Cradle for Radiator. This will support the whole radiator with 1/8" rubber on the bottom and more rubber mounts on top. Don't want it to be too solid.. cracks and stress isn't ever good. Manifold runner all welded up Garrette GTX3582R with 3"to4" V-band... damn adapter was expensive.. 70 bucks!! 4" downpipe Intercooler end tanks Intercooler almost done IC mounts Johnny boy doing his thing BOV charge tube Very nice.. raditator cradle came out good |

Mock..YEAAA.....ING.......YEAAA....BIRD... jk..but seriously name that movie..
Looking good..and coming along Making sure we have clearance for the turbo mani.. Looks good so were go for tacking 90% finished manifold mmmmhmmm Downpipe mock up..it's a squeeze.. Tack tack tack... fender wells for over fenders Silocone sealer to keep the shiiii out Turbo Charge side of IC welded Made some Screamer pipes for my wastegates, still need to cut them and pretty them up but they're going to the atmoshpere Cut a plate for my cannon plug for the Engine wiring harness. just need to tack it onto the firewall brought my old exhaust and oil coolers to make sure they fit... but decided that i'm trashing the whole exhaust.. and going with a new system. 4" all the way to try to get everything we can out of the gtx35r. If any of you guys are familiar with HP turbo ratings..For rotary.. you take whatever the turbo is rated for and you divide it by 1.3 "13b-rew" displacement. So almost maxing out this turbo is my goal. I'd like to get the broadest power-band possible. WHP under the curve! My power goal is 450-480WHP. I'm also trying to make the most power at as low a PSI as possible. Efficiency wise..it'll just be better if we can make 450WHP at say 20PSI compared to 25PSI. Less stress=better reliability. anyways..back to pics.. Oil coolers. 25Row Mocal's Line routing.. surprisingly everything is going to fit without modification.. THANK GOD! And finally mounted SO this is where I currently am in regards to progress with the build. Hopefully I'll have some more updates soon. Just ordered my Radiator -16AN fittings today so they should be in from summit this week. Other than that.. just tidying up some loose ends. |

nahh....haha. He almost sold the motor to someone else. I caught his ass and busted him. It was with an entirely different chassis anyways...some 8-9 years ago. I'd still deck his ass in the jaw though... that guys a low life.

I miss my 93' R1 Black FD so much. I commend your decision to keep the rotary. Can you tell me more about the motor? Which seals did you go with? Street Port? Bridge Port?

Quote:
The motor was built by Howard Coleman (Coleman precision rotaries). Its a large street port that is supposed to make 500whp at 20-22lbs. I'll be keeping it a little lower than thatfor reliability. But the seals are NRS ceramic apex seals, 1 piece, 3mm..they were really expensive :-\ but they should take care of business. |
