So i just finished installing my spl rucas and when I test drove it, it wandered when I get up to 40mph+.

I bought the part used and it was already adjusted to how I want it, which is 1/2 of an inch longer than stock.

While installing I noticed that a piece was missing from one of the ends, and its the piece circled in red below.



I went on ahead and installed it anyways thinking it wouldnt be much of a problem.

I noticed that my car was raised about 3/4 of an inch now that I have more positive camber. The stock arms had about a -3 camber in the rear with the coils maxed out.

So my question is, what is causing my car to wander? I'm thinking its the missing end piece, or it could be the toe angle, or last case which would be alignment. My rear now has a slight case of toe out and a slighter case of positive camber ._.; all that from 1/2 adjustment to the arms. idk. need help. thank you.

that piece missing isnt helping you in any way. and positive camber with a high side wall tire will cause it "wonder" as well. So id get the piece thats missing, if that doesnt help try adjusting it so that its at the stock position. trouble shoot the easy stuff then play around with suspension geometry

thanks for the input, but im leaning towards my toe out problem for now. i didnt know adjusting the camber would change the toe..?

so if possible, how can i adjust the toe with stock toe links?

Bad toe will do two things, one make your car wander all over the place and it is even more noticeable when it rains and can be very very dangerous. Two it eats up your tires something fierce, I went through a set of tires in a week with just a couple of degrees of toe off. Although I did commute about 120 miles a day.

thank you. i pretty much know the general stuff in terms of camber toe caster and such. I was just wondering what causes the wandering after i installed my rucas.

But now that I know, I was wondering if its possible to adjust toe with the stock toe links?

Yes you can adjust toe using the stock eccentric bolts on the rear toe rod, but you probably won't have enough adjustment with stock arms.

You'll need to buy adjustable toe arms.

thanks again. ill try and see how much i can adjust with the stock links, and if that fails ill just order adjustables.

off topic but, i pretty much removed 2 perches from the rear megan track coils today and that did no good. the bottom mount tube wouldnt twist up all the way, so the extra threads are pointless. i now have an inch worth of a fender gap in the rear with more positive camber now, but im on 16's with a 50 series tire. meh

This thread is useless, man. You didn't get your car aligned after the arms, it's gonna do funky stuff..Let someone who knows alignment look at it before you start buying more arms..

Mistake #1: Installing incomplete suspension parts.

Mistake #2: Arbitrarily adjusting suspension arms

Mistake #3: DRIVING on incomplete suspension arms

Mistake #4: Wondering why your suspension is all fucked up when you didn't get an alignment.

Stop modifying cars if you can't do it right.

You probably need toe arms as well.

To the OP everything you do any kind of suspension adjustments or replacements even lowering your car or raising it you need to get alignment done no matter what any one tells your or read. Do it right from the begining so you wont have problems after.
