5 speed tranny being a huge PITA

Went to install my 5 speed tranny the other night. Finally finishing up my auto to 5 speed swap. I first had a problem getting the tranny up into place because of the shifter so I removed the shifter. Got the tranny up and ready to go in. I believe the spline is in, but there’s still a good 3 inches of space between the tranny and motor. The tranny will not budge. No amount of twisting pushing shoving up down left right sideways is making this thing move. My next move was to jack up the front of the motor and spin the spline as I try to install it. Anyone have any tips on how to get this thing in?

Tilt the back of the engine down so you can align the transmission shaft with the pilot bushing. Once you do that it will go the rest of the way in. Took three tries before we could get my buddies transmission to line up.

Just have to keep working at it until it’s all the way in.
