HKS step 2 264 cams question..(sr20)
I have a set of mint hks cams and I've been debating on whether to put them in or not. I've already decided I'm going to get new springs and retainers for them if I do decide to use them, but I've been hearing a lot of mixed things about the install. One of my concerns is whether or not I need adjustable cam gears in order to have these in my car. Another is the fact I'm still running a stock t25 on my sr20. Is it okay to run these cams with the stock turbo? Also, would I need a tune once I put these in? I'm just trying to see how much money it would cost me overall to get these in my car..thanks in advance for any help.

You don't need adjustable cam gears for these. They will be fine on the stock turbo it'll just be the turbo that is holding your motor back at that point. I'm running 266's on my t25.
Your going to need bigger injectors and something to tune your afr's with. |

Cams should be one of the last things done to a motor as it moves your power-band up further. With the stock turbo you wont really be able to make full use of the cams. And no you won't NEED adjustable cam gears but they would help immensely to dial in the cams to your motor.
