noisy motor need knowledge

Sounds more like a bad valve. What does it sound like when you rev up? You should post a video of it being revved. Not just quick revs.

A buddy of mine did the assembly and took it to a shop nearby for the machining . Fresh valve seals but valves were reused ..
said they looked good

Bottom end is wiseco 87 9.0:1 Pistons
Factory rods
Clevite main and rod bearings

It sounded fine the last 200 miles but I just replaced my cams (stock) because previous owner neglected oil and cams worn down a lot from oil squirters being clogged up

Could that be from bad timing ? I double checked the timing but idk . I was wondering if there could be too much slack on the exhaust side of the chain

Clevites and clogged oil squirters... the engine is trash.

Rebuilt sr20det rarely make the 1000 mile mark. Very important to keep them doctor clean when opening it up... clogged oil squirters is very common on engines rebuilt poorly due to lack of cleanliness and marks the end of the engine. You wipe a cam lobe and send metal through the engine its almost always gg.

It was clogged before the rebuild and I ddnt realize the cams were worn till it was back in the car but that would clog up oil gallery's yeah? The entire duration of the cams were worn maybe half a mm

The squirters are flowing now I cleaned em during the rebuild

The tensioner should be stationary after it moved out locked in place correct? Mine is not trying to upload video
