No argument here. Hopefully the next gen will look better. But the 370Z and 2nd gen Genesis coupe proved to me that I can see past looks if the performance specs and price are on target.

If you don't mind me asking... what's your job? Like what do you do? Especially being involved with so many companies.

Most car makers nowadays have their own emergency and concierge service similar to OnStar. My company develops and services the emergency response & concierge systems for those manufacturers and vehicles.

Thats one reason I really want the 2013 GC versus the earlier one. The earlier GC doesn't have access to Hyundai BlueLink and our emergency response services.

Still not a fan of the front end, but with the switch to titanium 57s pros, every other angle looks pretty damn good to me...

The xxr's I get cheap/shitty wheels but these cars would have fairly good paint being not that old dafuq is up with primer?

And here we go! SFR is the first garage to crack open the 2013 2.0T's ecu and start seeing gains/improvements. An additional 30whp and 50ft/lbs on a bone stock car for only the price of a $750 ecu reflash.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkqy64bMpPk
This is just their initial Stage 0.5 tune. They're targeting 300whp and 330ft/lbs for the actual Stage 1 reflash with much improved driveability as well. Sooo, ummmm... How far does $750 go in an FRS/BRZ again? An actually decent set of tires?

$750 for a reflash?!

Nice gain on stock components none the less.

I think the whole BRZ vs Genesis comparo is becoming more and more like apples and oranges. No one is hailing the BRZ as competitively priced power house from the factory just like no one is hailing the Genesis as an amazing handling/well balanced car.

Yeah, on second thought... that is kinda pricey. Isn't the norm more like $450? The price will probably get more competitive as more options hit the market. But its still cheap compared to how much you'd have to spend on an FRS/BRZ to see these kind of numbers. But you are right though. I've always felt the FRS/BRZ should be compared against the discontinued S2000 and the GC against the G35/G37. But no one really talks about that.

Fully completed Stage 1 should be interesting. Stage 2 would include typical bolt-ons. Based on what SFR did on the previous 2.0t engine, this thing is probably gonna be hunting 370Z's, 335is' and maybe 5.0 Stangs.

Oh and somebody made functional hood vents in assorted colors for like $70.

When I was working at the Hyundai dealersihp a couple months ago i was fortunate enough to drive the new 2013 auto w/ sport mode paddle shifters 2.0T! Very nice car, not sure if the car wasnt broken in yet( it had literally 7 miles on the engine when i took it off the lot) but when you drive it in sport mode from a dead stop, it sorta lags and takes a second to get going, but it does handle very well, the turbo sounds cool spooling up!

almost got pulled over doing 75 in a 45 lol.

The sedans on the other hand are very nice as well for a bigger vehicle, drove the 3.8 & 4.6, wish i could drove the 5.0 Spec R, but their really nice & roomy, the lexicon sound system is nice!

^^^Yeah, they're all over that board debating whether they need rain protection. Hell, I'd much rather have colormatched inserts that would delete the vents entirely.

Any opinions on the 2013 2.0T R-spec? I plan to get one in August, It's within price range, and I'm really digging it. Also in my opinion I think it's the best bang for your buck especially with the hyundai 10 year 100,000 mile year warranty and the specs of the car. Any input is greatly appreciated.

hey all, actually just signed up for a little project im working on. a '74 Datsun 620 with a KA Single Cam swap.... but found this thread.

I've also got a 2010 Gencoupe 3.8 Track. Love it, although i wish it was a manual (damn wife) since technically it is her car.

This is what it looked like when we bought it, as well as after a few mods. BC Coilovers should be here Thursday, and then we can finally install the Work T1S's we've been sitting on for a couple of months.

The day we bought it in Minneapolis, and on the way home

the first week we had the wheels powdercoated, lowering springs, spacers, and windows tinted

then got a Seibon hood for it

threw some paint on it

and laminx'ed the tails

carbon fiber grille

then i worked on a speaker/sub/amp setup in the trunk

and the final product

magnaflow cat back exhaust

It was like that for about a year, took it to several shows locally

then we did a carbon fiber front lip, side skirts, and rear diffuser. also not pictured smoked fog lights, carbon fiber for light surrounds, and AEM cold air intake.

at the drag strip.

which pretty much brings us up to the present. coilovers should go on this weekend, and the install the wheels.

Dope car. Tell FotoMotive to stop using Scriptina like NOW. From a design standpoint it's just unacceptable. Especially since the photos are so good.
