s13 5 lug conversion confusion

If there is already a defined thread on this, please let me know. I have been looking through multiple posts and other forums and I see some conflicting information on what is needed for the 5lug swap on an s13.

I have found information stating you need:
Front:
S14 Spindles
S14 Lower control arms
S14 Rotors
S14 Hubs

Rear:
S14 Hubs
S14 Rotors

I have also found that the hubs themselves are interchangeable from the s14 SE.

I already have modified knuckles, extended s13 LCAs, s14 inner and outer tie rods and do not want to get rid of those. Is it required to get the knuckles and LCAs from the s14 or can the hub simply be swapped?

I also found information that you can buy the Ichiban or Isis 5 lug conversion but the bearings are junk.

What options do I have here so I can keep my modified knuckles and LCAs but still go 5 lug with big brakes?

Thanks guys

no you cant. The spindle is different.

@OP there is no viable, secure way to both keep your knuckles and go 5 lugs. The safest-ish way is to use a conversion wheel spacer.

If you want to go 5 lugs for brake options, you could redrill 5 lugs discs (not THAT safe though), sell your knuckles, or get a custom center piece for 2 piece brake discs.

Another option is to go custom front suspension kit. I am using keisler's one, asked for an S14 knuckle with S13 sized coilover mount holes. It has some flaws (i hate the sway bar mounting system), but it works and is cheaper than most others. It features roll center and bump steer correction, high angle and a quick steering system. At the quickest, you get full lock with less than half a steering wheel turn in each direction my steering rack didn't like that though. the middle hole is nice imho.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was hoping all I needed was to simply swap the hubs, so good news

You cannot use s14 hubs on s13 knuckles. The Spindles are different sizes. The only way to use s13 knuckles is to get conversion hubs.

Sorry op, I thought you could cuz I recalled my buddy being able to use them but I just asked and he said he used the Ichinan hubs front and z32 rear.

You have other options for 5-lug conversion hubs on an S13.

Peak Performance sells conversion hubs as well as Attain.
