Learn me: Silvia s15 headlights
I want to learn as much as possible about the Silvia s15 headlights.
I've seen black vs silver housings and hid vs non-hid. How do the lights work in oem form? If I bought non-hid lights, could I use an aftermarket hid kit or would the light pattern suck? What do each of the bulbs do? Is there integrated driving lights or parking lights? Oem fogs in there somewhere? If you have some links, please share. Thanks. |

holy shit this is the stupidest thread i've seen in quite some time....
DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. why would you just expect someone to say, "come here buddy, sit down in my lap and i'll feed you the answers you seek." you can't tell what the function is by looking? do you SEE any fog lights, parking lights, or "integrated driving lights in there??? |

I DID search and if you do the same, you'll see nothing but fs or wtb threads. And where exactly should I actually look at the headlights? I'm in the US, where these lights aren't exactly common or legal. If you don't have anything to contribute then gtfo and go slide your car into a wall or something brah. |

I'm missing the point of the thread. Its a damn headlight, it has a projector for a low beam, reflectors for highs, parking light between the low beam and turn signals then amber turn signals at the corner. Covers are plastic so they'll start looking like Zenki S14 headlights after a few years.
Just cuz I'm being nice... |

Browndick, again go fuck yourself.
Your replies have been about as helpful as you've been successful as a pro drifter. I asked specifically how the lights work in oem configuration - no amount of 'interweb pix dude' is going to show me which light up in what manner. Sure I can guess, but that's a fucking guess. Do you even know the answers to what I was asking? Somehow I don't think so, because you've spent far more effort doing anything but addressing the op. Ryan, keep swinging from those nuts. Thanks Flip, that's what I was looking for. |

You can use hids if that's what your asking. It's a projector it'll be far better than a glass reflecting housing like guys use on pop up lights.

well from basic knowledge, the lighting with throwing a hid kit into a NON oem hid is gonna suck.
and ive already down my own google searchin on doin retro fits from a TSX or s2k to use their projector if you want legit HID out of a non oem hid s15 headlight model (but even the oem hid ones from japan, you gotta do retrofit or do some altering to the oem projector housing if you wanna make it all safe for other drivers so you dont blind them)... but who gives a fuck on that right? lol |

um.
black ones are regular halogen with projectors. the silver ones are the ones that come with HIDs and I believe also with hid projectors (kind of makes sense but I am not 100000% sure). Anyway, that's just about all there is to know about s15 head lights. |

They also do have factory option silver housing NON oem hid. Guess nissan went and put both colors available in whatever option so you can metrosexual the shit out of your car and play dress up. visual differences: usually comes wit that orange sticker lable on the top of the light to denote an oem hid headlight (other then the obvious ballast mounted on the bottom of the light). Though ive seen some that had that orange sticker thingy smudged off. |
