My newest project. KA24E-T with a goal of 450-500hp
I sold my supercharged KA24DE-R a few months ago to buy a Titan (it was my only car at the time, and I lived in a condo which would fine you if they saw you open your hood) but now have a house with an empty garage. I love the truck, but god damn do I miss my 240s and boost, so I bought this today. The first few pics are how she looks at the moment (currently a project, going to tear everything down, inspect, and replace anything that looks off and put in eagle rods). The nicer pics are how she looked when she was built a few years ago.
This is only the 2nd time that I have owned a 240 while actually having another DD (have owned 14, well 15 now, 240s), and this seems like it could turn out awesome after some TLC. I am hoping that after adding rods and probably a bigger turbo along with the standalone (MegaSquirt), and the not pictured intake plenum, I can get somewhere around 450-500hp. I also have a Devils Own meth/water injection kit in my garage I never used that I might try to incorporate. Probably going to also use the full potential of the Megasquirt and go MAP, electronic boost control, and multiple 'on the fly' fuel map switching. Recommendations based on what you see in the parts list are also welcome. I do not plan on having her up and running for several weeks, possibly months if that is what it takes to make her solid and the beast she deserves to be again (was last dyno'd at 350hp / 370tq by Martin of Enthalpy I was told). It is nice to be back. : D Here is the current parts list Engine Block bored .20 0ver Block and head decked Block magnafluxed and checked Valve job with including valves, guilds and seals ARP Head studs 12pc Valve Spring set Cometic head gasket Mechanical lifter set Custom Intake Plenum (not pictured or installed yet) Custom grind Mechanical Cam from O&J Performance Orlando 286 Duration 490-495 Lift (The engine machine work was done by rev masters in old winter garden.) Very nice build man. What main studs did you use for those power levels? I am building my single cam and I'm debating whether to buy new OEM studs or upgrade to ARP main studs. I'm unsure what power levels the OEM main studs are reliable too.

Do yourself a favor and ditch the turbo designed in the 70's...
Looks good.
