On 109 octane he could have had the timing cranked to make the power too...

Dunno if this'll help anyone or if I'm justing whoring it out but heres my spec and graph from GT2871R .64 on a non VVTi SR20 Redtop. IIRC this was at 1.3 bar [19psi] on a Dyno Dynamics machine [I think these are more conservative than others!] running 97 octane.

would maintain a fairly quick spool time, but also allow for very strong top end power. idk it was just a thought ..seems like it would work. I mean i know .64 a/r w/ 264 is ideal setup, b/c they both incorporate midrange power. but i was looking for a mix and match setup, as stated above.

good number, but the cams maybe a little aggressive looking at when peak torque comes on, nice torque btw! that's a lot on a DD.

I'd be interested to hear a bit more about your thoughts on my figures and in particular any info you might guesstimate about my cams as I know very little about them!

Yeah Greddy are a grounp that I havent personally worked/tuned/used on cams (probably the only one haha)
Looks like a nice good bump in torque. The petrol we have in the states is aweful. So that is probably helping you out. Check this out [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7i3JX18cGPs[/ame] Graph is not as smooth but that was at 16 psi with the same fall off. I am wondering if that fall off in torque is a symptom of the .64 turbine housing and not the cams. Or your cams (as with the car in the video) are just so conservative that it does nothing to extend the torque curve out further allowing for more efficiency and use of the compressor wheel. I would say throwing in a set of HKS 264 Step 2's and re-tuning wouldnt be a bad way to go, or Tomei 260 cams for an even faster torque peak (better for drifting).

ok guys i am going to dyno tomorrow.
you guys think the walbro will be fine at 20 psi on my turbo. ? cause it isnt hardwired. you think 92 octane is fine for 20 psi?should i do the pulls in 3rd or 4th . 4 has the 1:1 ratio but 3rd feel like it pulls harder then 4th

Cheers again Steve, I am starting to get my head round it a bit now. Are you saying my cams come in too soon or too late? They are Apexi from what I was told on the spec sheet by the way, not Greddy. But I can't find much info on Apexi SR cams.

Yeah I didnt know apexi made sr cams.
Usually my experience is HKS or Tomei for engine internals and Apexi for Head Gasket or EMS. Haltech is best EMS/Dollar imo though.

well i made 416 hp at 20psi with it spiking to 24 psi the last few hundred rpms. but the thiing i thought was crazy was making 328 hp running off the waste gate. but i think my tun is more for higher end because at every different dyno run. my hp was 70 more then tq. so at 416 my tq was 350. and at 328 my tq was 250

Ok so I call up Garrett to find out more about the GT28 and I guess there are two trims, one rated at 400hp and the other 475hp(48/52trim)which should I go for?
Went to their sire and there are 5 71R listed(48/52/56 trim). |
