Ikeya formula sequential shifter issue

Hello guys,

I just installed my new sequen shifter on my s13 ca18det but I have a problem with the reverse gear.

I take the type 1 and my gearbox is a type 2 "the reverse gear with a longer distance than the other gear".

My problem is only with the reverse gear, the shifter don't push the lever suficiently long for entre totaly the gear and we I move the car the gear go out !

On the website of Ikeya I see that on the type 1 and type 2 the difference is on the Y of the lever, the type 2 as one part shorter and the type 1 the both extremity are at the same leng.

There is one personne who made this modification??

I know "sequential gearbox" might sound cool, but what you actually want is a dogbox transmission, with synchros on 1st/reverse. And then add a sequential command to it.

But that kind of thing is surely worth 5 times the worth of the car.

Do yourself a favor and bin that piece of crap, it does not make your gearbox faster and will just kill your synchros.

There's an HKS dogbox for about 10 grand right now if you want a good trans to pair with that shifter lol.

I know that this part don t make faster the gear change but I like it. The next year I will put one sr20det with a rb25 gearbox, this year I just would make the sequen shifter workijg good with my reverse gear .

It's not going to work on an rb25 box either as they use different shifters.

And the RB25 is not that much stronger than the sr20 box. If you want a really strong and modern one, the later Z33 gearbox is great. Precise, gears go in like it is made of butter, it has 6 speed although the 1st really is short. But that is like 5K€ to make the swap (that includes a brand new gearbox, a custom driveshaft, adapter plate, machining and labor)

The rb25 trans is internally 95% the same as the z32 box, they can take plenty of abuse, the '71c sr20 trans just can't...
