Into music people think is weird? Share and discus it here! :D
So I was thinkin'. I know there are people out there who listen to music they genuinely like, but may be scared to play it in their car or something because they think they'll get weird looks for it or somethin'.
So I figured, let's share it with each other. There may be some really good music out there that a lot of people don't know about, or maybe haven't heard good examples of. Share away! For me, one of my favorite genres is irish music. Maybe it's just because i'm part irish, idk. But there's somethin about it that I love. It's so upbeat, happy, and fun! (Especially if you're drinkin' ). I love these guys. They have amazing voices and make awesome music. and somethin' a little more upbeat from another good bandL |

i need drums. 9/10 with drums, 6/10 without. the other stuff, i personally can't stand spanish. esp spanish music. im a white dude who works with 4 mexicans, one who doesn't speak any english, another who barely speaks english, one who is for the most part fluent, and another who is completely fluent. yet they naturally just speak in spanish all the time. and 9/10 of our phone calls being with the customer asking "hablas espanol?" no i don't fucking speak spanish, this is the usa. learn to speak english if you're going to call a company. nothing against mexicans obviously. it just gets really frustrating when people expect you to speak the language of the country they immigrated from ALL THE TIME. i can dig that king krule. felt like i was in an old club back in the day haha the cataracs song is pretty catchy too. i dig some good african music too. i've never actually heard this song until now, but i just like their music and accents/languages |

I liked that High Kings but I don't think I could listen to a whole album.
Loved that King Krule song. Gotta look up more of his stuff. And I agree, Mano Negra/Manu Chao is a difficult thing to recommend to an non-English speaking audience. I love genre mash up and highly eclectic sound and subject matter. |

I live in central texas, and the only thing acceptable to be played loud without people looking at you weird would be hip hop, or whatever the fuk that is that "gangsters" play nowadays. If i wanna listen to some jonnhy cash loud i'd be called a weirdo, same thing if i wanna listen to some foster... There's this dumb trend here in texas, not sure if its dying or if its new, but people put an alarm speaker under the hood hooked up to theyre sound system so everybody can hear what they're listening to, thugs and gangster wannabees use it with their pos music... this happen anywhere else? I cant really begin to understand how people cant reach such a level of stupidity... Sorry for any typos, im on my phone... |

though personally i think its even more badass that you're a black dude who listens to it. Not a super common thing, and it's cool to see people listen to that kinda music when it's outside of their typical ethnic stereotype for music lol. if that makes sense. |

2Fresh - don't really care for that type of hip hop but the video is pretty funny
That Scar Symmetry song is pretty good although that pop singer/hook kind of takes away from it a bit imo. Still, it is something I'd listen to. |

If if you like it, take a listen to his follow up 'The Rhythm of the Saints' that did the same for Latin sounds - which as you know are African derived in nature. |
