I also have ideas for a rear seat delete box. Interested to see what you come up with.

You are a very determined man. I think I might be heading this way w/my car. I don't have kids or a wife yet (gf for now) but I don't have a lot done to my car due to college and life w/a part time. I hope you finish your build just the way you would like dude. Good Luck

I rarely give up on a goal that is important to me. So every one that pokes around these pages will see a car that brought back from a ghost of a shell to roaring with new life and complete.

Any ways on with the update. I ordered a new red cover for my black Sparco cover with OGRacing.com. Turns out they are on back order and no one keeps it in stock from coast to coast, including Sparco USA. I went ahead and placed my order, the next day I checked with Sparco USA to check on back orders this time of year. I was at first expecting to hear 6-8 weeks. That I can deal with, but I was told the last back order was 11 months old and still waiting. This put me in bit of a oh crap mode. After some hunting, another mint Red Sparco fighter was found in St. Louis MO. Just before making the trip I was informed that it would be the end of January that I could realistically expect the new cover in. Being impatient about waiting I went ahead and made the trip out west to trade some parts I had on hand and pick up the seat. Now I own 3 Sparco fighter seats. Woot! And my Black seat is already pending sale for what I have into it. Thankfully the special order request had not been processed by sparco USA for my red seat cover and I was able to get a refund. But instead of just taking the cash back I dropped it and some more cash on a new steering wheel since I don't care for the one I put in. The new one looks a lot better, matching the seats and other "Sparco" items in the car. I am very happy with it. Once my seats are in place in the car and the Steerign wheel is installed I may add on a Sparco quick disconnect or extension. I practically sit in the back seat as it is, so stay tuned for that. Also with me spending over $200 at OGRacing I received a free Sparco Icon hoodie, my choice in color and size. Shipping on every thing they had in stock was very fast I will be buying from them in the future.

And last, I started working on the wiring for my S14 SR20DET swap. This looks far more intimidating than it really is. Just to fill you in on what I am working with, I pulled this motor set out of a RHD swap S13 body. And as far as I can tell has 180SX wiring. The dash plug is a white female plug where as usdm have white male plugs for 89/90 and a brown male plug for 91-94. Then the pin outs on the power interface are all different. I was told it was a wiring speacailties upper and lower harness. But there is noting to confirm it, and Yuri is too busy to walk through confirming it for me. But he did give me a heads up on the different pin outs which was a great lead. After scouring FSM's, YouTube, and almighty zilvia I found the answers I needed. With some work I have every thing just about ready to go. Every thing reaches where it needs to be all connections are soldered into place. I need to repair a single terminal, and I am going to make a jumper harness for the dash plug, and two power plugs. That way IF I ever part ways with the SR and some one with a RHD 180SX wired body can just plug and play, as can all the other S13 owners. I will post up finished products once I am finished but here it all is boxed up. Again looks worse than it is.

I realized that I did not have a decent picture of the car as it sits. So here ya go

Today, a good friend and I tackled a fabricating a mounting set up for my Sparco Fighter seats. We had enough time for the drivers side. Lighting in my pictures is terrible, I will try to get some day light photos tomorrow.

here is the fabrication work to show how we went so low.

I switched gears from Ka-t to S14 SR20DET. Those pictures will be coming soon. I have some prep work to do before dropping it in, nothing major.

When ever the weather improves I will put up some better pictures.

Put in more work today, My friend Eric, and finished up mounting the passenger side seat, and fabbed a harness bar using the gutted shell of the rear seat belt assemblies, thick sheet metal, and some 1" DOM tubing. Only thing that did not work out was my harnesses do not reach, so Looks Like I will be looking for a new set of Harnesses that can reach.

With all the cold weather and my list of parts to put in dwindling, I have not put much work in to the car lately. I am hoping if the weather will warm up to the 40's for a few weeks I can knock out my short but time consuming list of things to do. Currently on my plate of major things to do is; get rid of my parts car and scrap metal pile, pull the ka's from my S13.5 and my Vert, drop the S13.5's KA/transmission into my vert effectively giving it a refreshed motor and 5speed swap, then new carpet and crack free dash. Then last get the S14 SR20DET into the S13.5.

I how ever did finish up my Engine and Transmission wire Harness. I de-loomed every thing clean all the dirt and oil, put new electrical tape and wire loom. extended what needed to be extended, and made a jumper harness for both power interface plugs, and the dash plug.

Here I am refinishing one of my new 17"x8" +25 5Zigen wheels that will replace the front 18"x9.5" +12 's 5Zigens that are just a little to big to run with out going hellaflush. I think it turned out nicely. The next one will be refinished shortly, probably tomorrow.

Not a huge update, I am waiting on the cold weather to break to move to the next step of this build. But I will share the small stuff I have been messing with.

I don't have any pictures yet, but I did pick up some new 6x9 speaker boxes for the eclipse brand 6x9's I salvaged from my old Q45. They are going to be used to cover the rear speaker channels for more depth and make to help your ears bleed in the mid to high range. I have not put a ton of thought on placement for the 2 6x9's and the 10 inch sub to sit. That will be on a warmer day when I work that out.

Today My new Sparco parking brake handle and shift knob came in. both were super easy and quick to install. Last week I had ordered the Settanta Sparco shifter and parking brake handle. Both in Black finish, however the shifter has a rough finish and looks more of a charcoal color by comparison to my steering wheel and the parking brake handle. the parking brake handle had a smooth texture, and deeper black than the shift knob. And to boot the Red paint between the steering wheel, parking brake handle, and shift knob were all different from each other. All of the Sparco stuff I have purchased new was ordered through OGRacing.com. They were very helpful on the exchange with the shift knob and handle that I returned. In this picture I am using the L575 steering wheel, with the Sparco hub adapter, Globe shift knob, "Drift" ebrake handle, and unseen from my feet are some Sparco pedal covers. Yeah I am a fanboy for the stuff.

Here is a nice fuzzy cell picture of the finished harness bar that I designed utilizing the housing from the rear factory seat belts.

I did not care for how the 17" turned out, both are almost stripped down and ready for a fresh matching coat to my 18"s

Then last I tried my hand at upholstery. I need to figure out how to stretch the material better or find a different material that will stretch more. Keep in mind this was my very first attempt and these are both spare test panels that will not ever go into my car. Next attempt will look a lot better, and once it is perfected I will start on the nice pair of panels.

I am hiding the major flaw in this picture.

This one is looks worse in person.

Stay tuned I will be putting together some pictures of the complete SR swap I have. After that updates pertaning to the swap will be one large post dedicated to it after the car is running and driving with the motor set I will using.

Finally I got some decent shots on a clear day. The vert's bumper looks horrible that is why I have the white bumper in my post above.

Picked up some new tires for the pair of 17" 5zigens they are for better fitment over the wide 18's in the front. I think I will like the staggered look it will bring. No pictures yet, I have not taken the time to put them on. Been doing other small prep work and shinning up my Motor set. The paint is not perfect on the valve cover but Meh I am happy with it till I can set my self up to powdercoat. Wrapped up my turbo header, o2 housing, and down pipe. Cut my finger on one of the metal zip ties, so I smeared it in just so the car can remember all the Blood Sweat and Tears (of Joy!) I have put into it. Then I blacked out all the fiber glass wrap because I wanted to.

Yes It is VHT black wrinkle, then I layered every thing on top of it. Just toying around with it. I did want the red to be little more uniform but I did not have enough left in the can. The end plan for it will be powdercoating. But that will be after I purchase a house and buy a stove for the future garage. I have a LONG list of things I want to powder coat too.

It has been so busy for me lately. First Quarter of college ended for me, 4.0 in all classes woot. during the week break between classes I started in on my SR swap. There were few hiccups along the way. At this point almost every thing is finished on the Swap. Here some cell photos that I snapped. I will get some better pictures up later.

I am going with staggered wheel set up now, 18x9.5 +12 in the rear, and 17x8 +25 in the front. the wheel/tires fit alot better in the front now. just need to adjust ride height all the way around again

The intercooler in this picture is not level. it was a rough mounting. I have since fixed it by rolling the intercooler bottom backwards, and reconfigureing the plumbing with other piping I have. This was done to allow clearance for the way I have my hood pins set up. More pictures will come.

Looks really close but I see a few small differences, either way I like it. I will be updating/coping the way you mounted the pins for your hood latches, I really like that set up.

On a weird note, I filled the coolant system up with distilled water only to check for leaks. Started the car,let it idle, and burped the system with the motor running. then a ton of sunflower seed shells came to the top of the radiator, It was at least 1/2 of those small bags you buy at the gas station worth coming out. makes 0 sense why they are there. I am going to pull the water pump, and T-Stat and flush it out more thoroughly tomorrow.

I am going to pull the water pump, and T-Stat and flush it out more thoroughly tomorrow.

wtf dude?

My neighbors would not have the testicular fortitude to step into my garage even if I left the door open all night while I was away at work. and I did look down both necks that the radiator hoses mount to, just to check for debris. I think it was there from the previous owner, and I am thinking the T-Stat might be clogged. There was very little movement from the water in the radiator at operation temp. Not to mention the water did not warm up. That is why I want to crack the water pump, T-stat, and maybe pull the coolant lines from the turbo for good measure. I know that the turbo that was on it before I bought the engine was blown. I never seen that turbo so I have no idea if there were any shells in it. I would think they would stop at the banjo bolts, both are easy to access.
