For your front lower ball joint mod did u use 3/4" bolt, or 5/8" with some misalignment spacer/adapters? If you did use 3/4" where did u get the cone spacers that go on either side of the spherical? I found some 3/4 to 5/8 misalignemt spacers, but i think with those they go inside the spherical and step you down to a 5/8 inner diameter so you have to use 5/8 bolt instead.
EDIT: found in the roll center thread that u used 3/4" bolt! so where did you get the cone spacers for top and bottom of spherical? THANKS |

Ok, so I decided I needed a way to actually measure camber/caster besides eyeballing it and being the cheap ass I am I decided to make something rather than buying the $150 gauge I really want. Picked up one of these bad boys at Sears for $24.99...
http://www.4x4review.com/Portals/1/a...gLevel-001.JPG ... and rigged it up to measure camber. As for the way I set it up to measure caster I'm not sure I got it right so I just made both sides 'even' lol. As the car was camber was all over the place. Something like -1.8 LF, -2.5 RF, -4.0 LR, -4.3 RR  So after a shitton of measuring, adjusting, etc... I got it all where I wanted. -2.8 LF/RF, -1.8 LR/RR. Flared the fenders out via small pipe, set the toe (0deg. front....1/8" total toe in rear) and took it for a spin. Man it feels alot better! Also, debadged the trunk, put manifold heat shield on for the haters :P and put stock fog lights on. Anyways, everyone loves pics just nevermind the dirt

Very russ esque. Hate to bother you but if you get a min, any chance you could snap a pic of your front lower control arm angle with the vehicle on the ground? also what size are your front tires, and how big are your roll center spacers up front? THANKS!

Tires are 225/40/18. I'm getting ready to head out for vacation so I'll get some pics and measurements when I get back.

no, its a zenki with a mere ka24de in it... but it would probably make most peoples cars look like shit, even by today's standards.
i'm assuming you werent here years ago, so you dont remember russ. russ is everyone's father. what was that, early 2000? those were good times back then. people actually knew eachother by name. now its like "hey man im drifter2888x7 on zilvia, or jeff on nico" .... but who the fuck goes on nico? one thing that hasnt changed, nico still sucks. |

lol he was here for a while then went back to honda's, they're familiar and cheap to mod. then came back to nissans. I still don't understand why people run a/n fittings on the intake side of the valve cover, that's supposed to have vacuum going to the fuel injectors/rail (i forget off the top of my head exactly) It's not an oil baffle purge area otherwise it would go to the stock catch can by factory design.
makes me giggle every time.

If you are talking about the pcv port, I'd rather have it vent to the atmosphere than let the intake pull in oil through it under vacuum. I guess you don't understand the whole crankcase breather idea...

oem setup works just fine. Intake ports aren't full of oil either, nor is the intake manifold. Those invisible oil fumes that are robbing me of horsepower come out on the hot side of the motor. The cold side is to let the gases out but not back in through the pvc system, just running an open line without a check valve in place just dismisses it's design entirely. But to each his own. I'm not here to wave science dicks with you.

Yea, ran out of time & money this winter to mess with the outside lol. Thanks! PCV works only under vacuum. Straight vent works all the time, especially when needed most, under the booost!

that super fancy AN hose on the left side of your valve cover goes nowhere? wayne said it goes on the fuel rail, it goes near the fuel rail.. back into the intake manifold, in stock form of course. with the baffles in the valve cover and pcv valve, it should do its purpose just fine. anyway... |

Had fun getting the car on a 'track' for the first time. Still got some rubbing issues to sort out as you can hear. Couldn't get it to rub much riding solo on 'test' runs but with some weight in the passenger seat it rubs, especially on the last run as I had a bigger passenger.
The track was awesome and easy to figure out, just wish we got some more runs in and it was less windy. Can't wait till the next one! YouTube - Robbie Seal IRP 4/3/11 S14 YouTube - robbieauto_X.mp4 Some play-by-play photos borrowed from 'Target' on ICS. Interesting how much the car actually leans. Sway bars might be next on the to-do list... Nater's pics... rimtuck

Finally got around to redoing the battery setup since I wasn't crazy about the battery box that was in there when I got it. Going to make a new spare tire cover once the carpet comes in but here's what I got done today...
Old setup....yack! Picked up a Deka ETX16 at Meijer, but this one's extreme so I think it's going to be better! I had a 14 in the S2000 and it was rated at 200cca. It definatly struggled a little with the 11:1 c/r, this thing seems to have plenty of 'oomph' so far... Fabbed up an aluminum battery tray/holder/thingy... Welded some threaded studs to mount the contraption... Mounted Much better use of space! Wired up

^thanks man!
Well the fun continues. I decided to get the recirculating fitting for my HKS bov to help driveability and get rid of the throttle lift buck I get when autox'ing. This required me to move the flange back to the drivers side. Well got that accomplished and then somehow fighting the c-clip to put the bov back in place I managed to crack the base of the bov. :x Somehow I always end up with these HKS ssqv's and always curse them when I have to mess with them. Well rather than taking the easy route and buying a new one I said screw it I'm done. Picked up this Turbosmart Kompact plumb back bov for a great price... Nice and small, good quality too! Disassembles quick with no tools ugly blue silicone 90 ftl but it was free.99 Quick drive around the block, this thing is pretty quiet and seems to help drivability quite a bit. Gonna miss the random backfires scaring kids though lol!

aren't you using any hose clamps on your radiator hoses? or is that black glossy stuff some kind of "clamp" to keep the hoses from slipping off? i've never seen that before, looks neat!

They're made by Gates, they are basically heat shrink hose clamps. They work awesome and look good doing it lol.
