Cheap mofo build and piant thread!!
WHAT UP ZILVIA!
this is bruceguy from the socal 818 area, and this is my FIRST 240 SX! i know,, how gay... anyways i always had a thing for wrenching, and up till recently ive only worked/build motorcylces. so this the deal, i picked up an s13 hatch in lancaster, the car was rolling, but just. the car had no motor or trans, or drive shaft. but..... i got 2 sohc motors , a good friend gave me the 5 sp tranny. and i got it all for SUPER CHEAP!!! What better way to know your car than just build it, here are some pics team fail reporting so i got it home later that night................... a couple of weeks go by and i chosed the best of the two motors and hooked it up to tranny, i manage to borrow a cherry picker from black albert!! and i put that bitch where it belongs...... sooooooo.... once that thing was in, i started to geusstimate things and hooked up lines and put the ecu and harness in, all n all, it wasnt too bad. being that its my first 240 build..... BTW, gotta thank zilvia network, for the info, advice and MARKET PLACE!! Last edited by bruceguy; 01-21-2009 at 11:46 PM.. |

since i got the car, i was wondering what color and how i was going to paint it,
and i decided that the car is not worth painting profesionally, and i wanted my paint budget to be.... lets say 70 bucks, should be plenty. ive seen some nice paint threads on zilvia, but even those seem way to labor intensive and way over budget!! im talkin about rustoleum bitches!!! newspaper,,, and some tape!! THIS IS FOR ALL THE CHEAP MOFOS OUT THERE, TIME TO SOMETHING THAT WILL GET THE JOB DONE SON!!! i just happen to have a piant gun ( a whatever taiwan gun) and a small decent compressor, nothing fancy. went to osh and picked up some supplies, spent 40 bucks, still under budget, dope well,.. thats it for the mean time, the rain is coming and that going to put thing on hold, maybe ill get shit smoged,.... ilegally !!! feel free to ask anything, also here to take advice, BTW, you want to see it when its almost done,.. not to spoil it... all i have say is RALLY 240SX, its gonna be sick |

Not much of a build thread - but I assume you'll be adding more, so I guess keep it up? These beat-to-shit ugly cars, and the fact that they account for the majority of 240sx ownership in America, make me sad.

Haha. You're saying my "primer black s14" looks the same as your car?
... not quite. I'm more into racing than the streetfighter look, but at least yours look clean. New tail section on an old bike helps a bit, but using regular car batteries is really not the way to go for range/lb... definitely cool though. Love to hear what drive and controller you're using, and what the budget was (after the bike, of course).
