AHHH!! new alternator/battery...car takes forever to start!

I just got my rb25 alternator rebuilt and a new battery and fixed a short in the charging system and my car still goes tick tick tick tick and then starts....can that be the starter now?and when i press the brakes the lights dimm on the cluster and the fans slow down...can someone help me out and give me some ideas on what can be wrong.....

Have you tried even tracing the issue? Why not check for power to the starter as it should?

From there I'd diagnose by pulling fuses and seeing when you loose the draw
