he obviously built it to look like a supercar. The outside is nice. I wish he could have done without the red in the inside, it would have made it a bit more elegant. He did a great job on it though.
As for the motor, who knows? Maybe all the cops confiscated all the cars from his garage and the only thing he had was an orange 2jz Supra crashed in the backyard. So after overnighting parts from Japan he found out that his dad was building a Camaro but didn't have a motor in it because he couldn't find an affordable Chevy motor. So he went ahead and put the 2jz inside the Maro just because it was available.

Cool car, very high quality of work.
I like that he used a 2JZ, it's different and it's certainly a capable powerplant. 1st gen F-bodies aren't so rare that this is a travesty, it's not like it's a Bugatti Atlantic or something. People hack up C1 Corvettes to build nasty-looking silly dragstrip cars, this is a much less pronounced sin than that. And the fact that he didn't do much/any of his own work isn't a big deal. *Most* people who can afford to build cars this radical can afford to pay someone else to do it for them. The reality is that 99% of most people building top-shelf cars aren't doing it with their own hands.

Props to him for doing it and pissing everyone off.
I'm sure it hauls ass, and the engine does sound nice. That said...a worked-over 302 would sound a lot nicer. |

thats so wrong... im sorry. Great, even fan-fucking-tastic craftsmanship, but in every single aspect of the build wrong.
i've helped restore camaros, chevelles, impalas... never once did i think of putting anything besides at least a 350 into them, with the camaro getting a 454... Im sorry, i just cant do it. I know you cant argue numbers, but theres just something more to numbers in this case. Your messing with classic american muscle, and a rare piece of history at that. you dont see many 1st gen f-bodies rolling around these days. Now if he had put that engine and work into an e30 bimmer... That would have been ok. You can total one of those and not feel HORRIBLE, just bad. you can still find those in decent numbers.

then he sold that... bought something else and played around with that, and eventually came back with that white s14 and appeared on ka-t.org when that forum just started. fromxtor, is just saying, calling duy a ricer is kind of out of context. |
