93 Blacktop SR Swap boost problem

This is the set up I have in my 93 s13 240sx. I have a Type X S13 Blacktop SR with and upgraded tube manifold and S14 T28 turbo (came like this from japan). So this is how I have my vacuum lines set up

Top Left @ Throttle body - FPR and Boost Gauge
Top Right @ Throttle body - BOV and wastegate
Bottom Left @ Throttle body - Capped off

Without a boost controller inline before the wastegate my car makes about 15-16PSI
With a ebay MBC inline before the wastegate (completely closed) my car still makes about 15psi.

Why is my car making so much boost?
Do I have a vacuum leak?
Should I invest in a EBC?

Oh also my car wants to die when it starts up from a cold start

watch your air/fuel ratio to make sure you are not running super lean.

Not sure why you've got so much boost. could be a vacuum leak. not sure.

Sounds like you got an aftermarket wastegate. Get an adjustable air compressor, hook up the compressor to the wastegate line and slowly bump the pressure on the compressor and see when the flapper opens up. Stock wastegate should open around 7 psi.

okay I'll do the pressure test on the wastegate and I'm going to replace the vacuum line with silicone ones. I'll take a picture of my vacuum line set up and post it up so you can see if I have it wrong. but for the time being I'm just not letting the car boost past 10psi

okay found out my wastegate isn't opening. so that's why it is boosting so high. I'm gonna go pick up a new garrett wastegate at z1 motorsports tomorrow morning. hopefully this fixes the problem. now in search of a decent priced starter. because mine is crapping out.

turned out to just be my wastegate. replaced it with a new one from z1 motorsports for $25 and now the evil queen is boosting at 7psi.

search around for rebuilding the starter. you can get it done with local parts.
