Zillalife / Garage 21 Rocket Bunny S15
Hey,
Here is my s15 I have had it for 6 years it was mainly a road car but now its my road legal competition drift car. Here is where I ended up last year, Fully caged, In january it was stripped down to bare shell for a full rebuild! Should hopefully never have to do it again! Dropped the car off to Garage 21 in January, It was stripped to a bare shell, Sanded down, New metal added and some strengthening gussets removing all of the sound deadening is a twat of a job! but its done now Prepped Shell, Last edited by Tooley-s15; 05-06-2016 at 07:22 AM.. |

Thanks mate,
Its been a ball ache but its like i have a brand new car now! Ive had all of my frames and arms back from the poweder coaters. Going for a copper and gold scheme. Front frame has been modified and braced / stitch welded. Dan Joyce (friend of mine) moved the steering rack mounts forward 25/30mm (cant remember ill have to measure haha). I then had the frame strengthened. Its now been dropped off for paint. |

So happy! Finally making good progress as of this weekend.
Car has been base coated white inside and underneath. Just waiting for the engine bay to get glittered with lacquer. I now have 22 days to complete this build before final boss!! got all of the parts at the unit waiting to go so its doable! Going to be busy |

hahah thanks guys!
so we were at the unit till 1AM last night and got a lot done! Engine is in, Half of the looms are in. Today we will be doing the wire tuck and getting the front and rear shocks on to make it a rolling shell. Getting really confident now Need to reposition the PAS pipes due to the size of this baffled sump! Such a shame you cant see the 409 when the gear box is on! Such a thing of beauty. |

What can I say! Just got back from final boss. Can't believe we got there 9 days ago the car was a bare shell! No sleep in the last two days finished / started the car then loaded it on to the trailer and drove straight to Scotland at 3am Saturday morning.
Had to align the car in the pits by eye and then take her for a shake down. Garage 21has built an epic car! Massive thanks to David Brown (old man and bro) Ross Hancox Lauren Newby for helping my build the car back together in time! And cheers Dan Joyce for giving me wire to finish my loom tuck! Nice one to Anthony Lloyd for coming along to film I am now sleep deprived it what a great weekend catching up with old friends. So I was lucky enough to be invited into the Drift Outlaws championship and we had round one last weekend.
I have never had so much fun at a competition. There was 20,000 spectators at the Nissan Factory in Sunderland as it was tied in with the Extreme Torque show. I managed to qualify 21st and sadly got knocked out in the top 32 against Steve Will in his 700bhp BMW smoke machine. I had a really strong lead run but being blinded by smoke in my chase run i missed a number of clips. Which was fine as I know chasing through smoke is a big weakness of mine that I need to improve on. Got some great footage to post up soon. The car is now aligned and is handling absolutely amazingly it has a lot of grip and actually powers through the corners pretty fast considering its low power. |

Round 3 or drift outlaws was an interesting event.
Car started off amazing with no issues, none had all year tbh. Then suddenly it would not start. Kept blowing a fuse under cranking. After we figured it out i had miss all of practice. Had to bump start the car everywhere. I over cooked my qualifying run by going in to fast with too high a tyre pressure and ended up clipping the wall and it dove the front end in My team Garage 21 & Zilla Life along with help from Dove motorspots team helped me get the car fixed in time for battles on the sunday. We had the car tied to a bollard and I was reversing it to pull it straight. Bent lower arm, Bent tension arm, Snapped steering arm, cracked Wheel, dented tower chassis leg is fine thank ****. I got knocked out in top 32 as I lost my battle by one point and ended up 15th over all in the championship. Out of 42 drives im happy with that as my first championship year. Now for the pics! ohh yea and I drove it home! Calm before the storm! Crash selfie After some pulling and new parts fitted then back to OEM standard for the drive home Got a few good vids to upload and the car will be back with my full V2 rocket bunny kit fitted cant wait! Ready for the drive home! [/URL] |

Well had a busy weekend! Picked up the rest of the kit on Friday.
Managed to get the kit fitted with no issues and was relatively straight forward. Now the kit is fitted I can set up the ride height and the track widths. Need to lower the car by almost 2" and the rear track need to be widened by 15mm and the front 25mm. Then I need to fit the front and rear diffuser/splitter. The cars is wide as fuck!!! and just about fits in my garage lol! |

Front Tub work. Gussets to come. Had to re tub the front and rear to get this car low enough with this kit. Not ideal but needs must. Dont want no 4x4 RB arch gap.
Jacking point done and splitter fitted. Exhaust is now being made! Need to make the bumper cuts neater as we had a bit of wobbly hand syndrome on the right side. Shit loads to do before japfest! |
