more low
I have s13 hatch w/ rota grids, 17x9.5 +12 with federal ss 205/40/17. I got a bit of stretch on those rims, i have pulled fenders also. Im maxed out on my megan steet coils, removed collars and all that good stuff.
Still can't get it to tuck tire as i want. Before pulling and rolling i was able to tuck almost to the rim's lip, but i had a huge amount of negative camber. So does rear over fenders sit lower than oem ones? My other option is to get pbm subframe raisers, but that will only give me .5 ich lower. Need advice. |

You have 2 options.
Get shorter swift springs. Or buy new coilovers.

well i guess springs falls out, because i cannot physically lower the shock body. its bottomed out. But having the raised subframe would help a little.
thoughts on raising the subframe? |

SPL has the has subframe risers like you said. But I would advise on better coilovers. Something with a longer threaded shockbody. If your not going to try shorter springs. |

If you think getting shorter springs wouldnt help. Then you need to stop trying to be hella flush with knock offs and start over with a different car altogether. as in not a 240sx.
Otherwise, do as you have been told. /Thread

Guys he has 205/40's on 9.5's lol he could jump up to a 225 still be stretched and fill his well better. Shit I ran 225/45's on 9's and they had stretch on a 9.5 they would have even more stretch.
He could probably even go 235/40 on a 9.5 and still have a little stretch. section width on a 205/40 is 8 inchs, which pretty much means its for an 8 inch wheel with normal straight up sidewalls. That means he is stretching his tires 1.5 inches lol. Seriously of course his wheels are going to have gap when the tires are stretched that flat. LOL

this wasnt the discussion of his gap from tire to fender as in the inward/outward distance, but as for him to acheive a closer fender to outter circumference of the wheel distance.
Tire stretch will only get you so far in moving the car closer to the ground and reducing your contact patch with the road. Unless you have good coils that will actually tuck a 17". And jumping to a wider tire will reduce his amount of stretch, but wont fix his lack of tuck. Do as we have discussed above and it should work. |

That's a shitty roll. Over fenders do sit like a inch lower that's it though not much of a difference.
This is my over fender 50MM and wheels are 10.5 on the rear with 295/18's no stretch for me. Nothing great I have far better coils than you do and I'm able to go another 2in lower if I wanted. Hopefully that answers ur question about the over fenders.

thanks for the 101 flaming from you all " advice" givers. Never said i need some hella flush nonsense. Just trying to go lower, asked about some suspension stuff and got a whole lot of bs i didn't need to hear.
For all those with smart comments making you feel better go impress your girlfriend with your " i know it all" knowledge over the others. back to the topic, i was able to figure out my problem, i pulled the other side and was able to tuck the tire a lot better. Had to do with my camber arms being set and adjusted wrong the first try. now i can lower her about another 3/4 inch. Ill have to get the gen 2 toe arms from pbm or similar design what has that "bent" design. |

preload fronts and droop the rear springs. thats your only way out with megans besides shorter springs.
but with preload and droop comes shittier handling than it already is with megans.. not to mention unstable when cornering hard. just get different coils like PBM or stance if you want to dump.
