New Member 1st 240. Have Some Questions..
I recently bought a 97 240sx. Pretty much a stock KA24DE, just headers and exhaust. The suspension is Godspeed I think the kid said, with PBM coilovers. Im not sure how good of a setup this is?
And he threw in an extra KA motor with a Lsd out of a G35. Now i never rebuilt a motor but since i have the extra one imma try to since its there.. I just dont know whats good and was shitty.Since all my boys fuck with honda. But i just want some advice on what to do and what not to do.. My goal is to be in the 300hp range with turbo. Any advice on what route i should go? thanks |

1. I'm jelly of your car... factory kouki = rare now I guess
2. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? 3. As much as I like your car, this is zilvia and people aren't going to spoon feed you. There are plenty of threads out there with the information you need like the "coilover review thread", and several others with information on building a ka. 4. As for the PBM's.. I have them on my car, they're pretty good entry level coils. Almost impossible to blow them.

leave the motor alone for now or look into buying a s14 sr20det, zerolift.com has been reviewed well... turbo ka's aren't exactly dummy proof and there is much more aftermarket for sr20's and 300hp is very easy to achieve safely
get rid of the god speed arms and invest in SPL arms https://www.splparts.com/store/produ...?pg1-cid3.html throw those wheels in the garbage and browse good wheel brands here Wheels & Tires - Wheels - Touge Factory Store and frsport.com is a good place to buy parts for these cars only spoon feeding i've done all year |

Nice car! For now your setup is fine for street as far as suspension goes. Godspeed isn't great but will suit your needs fine. PBM is awesome and is not an entry level coil by any means. I would call Dan at PBM and get some info on their suspension pieces. Top notch quality and very affordable compared to SPL. As far as the KA goes the stock rods are good for 40, but that is their limit safely. I would personally stay under 375 with them. I would replace the pistons with Arias or some other comparable variant. I would focus on the head as much as possible. It will flow better than the SR with some work. Port the head, cams, and a new valve train will be fine. T3T4 is boss for this motor! Cometic Headgasket and ARP fasteners and you are good to go. I would make an account on KA-T.org. There is a TON of info there. Don't waste your time buying an SR since you already have two motors. It's a super fun motor and revs like crazy, but seeing that you already have two KA motors. I would go that route. RS Enthalpy is good stuff for tuning as well as NIStune. Hope this helps.

Build the bottom end, and be happy with 300whp with a small turbo set-up. Cheap easy reliable. Then build the head. My KA-T car is stock (completely rebuilt though) head and a forged bottom end. t3/t4 top mount set-up. Runs like a top. EDIT: Neverthefuckmind. |
