Have you guys seen the new Civic SI? I personally still would take my 240 over this honda but I was just wondering what you guys thought of it.

EWWW! Thats awful, looks like a 2door focus. ####, thats soo sick! I can't wait to see it slammed with a big frickin wing...eww eww eww. Only thing that looks good are the rims, those are pretty good for stock rims IMO.

the shifter placement is really weird, but I hear it feels really natural and works pretty well. they should've given it the RSX engine and tranny though...

as cool as it may be, just remember: its still a civic

Call me nostalgic but I still think the 92 - 95 bubble style was the best looking. I *was* going to get a hatch before I found my 240. I went to test drive my 240 and the guy was all like "don't drive her like my grandma, cut her loose." So I cut her loose then we got back to the lot and I wrote him a check for my S14. I love that thing so much!

drifterx, so you like the mp3? Check out this new toyota:
http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/ar...ure02_0102.jsp
The #### thing has a 8000 rpm redline, 180hp and a 16 sec quarter mile. Not too bad for a grocery getter.

i know abt the car already.... it has been out in Japan for a while......my fiend who works at toyota already got brochures abt it....... it is basicly the same platform as the celica... with the same engine......
it is like a hatchback/station wagon.........
almost like a focus thing.......
180HP......
blah blah blah and we can take him in our 240sx with some nice mods.......
ofcourse some idiots will mod their new car and void all the warrentee on the car (isnt the warrentee the reason ppl buy new cars anyways?)

it cant be that slow, (160hp) thats more than 240's.

i pretty much hate evey new car in the past few years, echo, civic, focus, prius, they all look like eggs to me. even audi and mercedes are headed that way. it's like were are all in the movie demolition man with stupid roundy cars.

maybe its just me but i'mm still gonna chase down 90-96 rx-7's 300 Ztt's, 911's, and these kind of cars 15 years from now, when everyhting is ugly as ####..

JUST A THOUGHT-------------
since we are pretty much the first generation of car import modding owners, do you think the cars we mod (240's, celicas, supras, mr2, rx7, 300z) will still be desireacle 10 years from now when every new car built will have atleast 17 inch rims and all options, built in 8' subs and 8 speaker stereos, at least 160 hp and chrome exhaust???

i figure they will still be very desireable and a mint 240 with like 58k 10 years from now will retain a respectable value, much like comparable cars, there will still be all the mods around for them, and we will all want that car we could never afford, nowadays its old men and camaros, but it will be us and euro and jap cars modded to shit.

my .02

lol, yeah a buddy from school bought a 96 civic with the honda certified used car warranty and voided the #### out of his warranty with all the usual mods. Yeah I am sure we could take that grocey getter but you gotta admit it is still pretty slick.
I have to agree with you bing, I bet our cars will be worth something with the way new cars are being "pre-packaged". I can't wait to get my hands on a 90-96 RX-7 or a 92.5+ Supra.

fuck off, (jokingly)

u know what i mean, i wasnt gonna put 91+ rx7, 92.5+ supra, 89+celica awd turbo, 90+300z, 90+talon tsi, etc....

i just meant that after the boxiness of the 80's ( which i like better than the new roundiness) and before the new egg-shaper's, there was a wonderful median of compac sports car to-be's that we all know and love and i dont think that very many companes are catering to the demographic that will not just buy a car and drive itin to the ground, but we will buy it and take care of it and make it better.

all companies want is that fresh outta college girl who needs a car to get to her first real job.. thus hyundai

all the great cars are disappearing or becoming poo, eclipse case in point. &nbsp;240 RIP rx7rip, 300z rip, supra rip, talon rip, MR2 (until recently) rip.

hello mazd tribuute, envoy, rendevous, suv after suv after suv.... hello kia hello daewoo (rip)

i know u all agree right???

i was talking to jay about his comment on the years of rx-7's, but you still managed to get it wrong there bing <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> hehe. just fucking with ya. its a 240sx/Z forum, not here to discuss model numbers of rx7's. I however, am fond of alot of the boxier cars. S13 and R32, case in point. two very boxy cars that i still admire. i also like the R34, because it is bold and aggressive, without being shaped like a giant penis (supra, corvette, what not). dont get me wrong, the supra MKIV is beautiful as could be, I'm just somewhat into the whole boxy look on some cars

I agree totally. I was just thinking lastnight that there are not any new imports for sale that do not cater to the poor college kid or a big family. Maybe the WRX but it still isn't a supra or a rx-7. The lancer was a joke but hopefully the new 350z and EVO will give the import tuner scene something to embrace.
I wasn't ripping on you dude, I should have just put 3rd gen RX-7.
And the skiline's boxy style kicks ass, I love the lines and stance on that thing.

yeah thats why r33 is my least favorite, other than being the worst performing skyline, the fact that they tried to make it look alot sleeker

the WRX is okay, but i think BMW is doing great shit...

the new M3 has 343 hp, i used to work at BMW i sat in it for like a half hour just admiring it. &nbsp;

that my friends is a car... add $5000 in stereo, and just a few performance mods, 18' chrome rims, and add a bit to the skirt package and you are set for years and years to come.

LOL i thought they would have already banned u from the forum hunted u down and hung and burned u at the stake for being a RICER!!!! Neway i don't really like the front look of the Si it might grow on me a little though, but i don't think i would wanna race one until i get a few mods on. They're supposed to be pretty quck.

I am impressed by the new civic, they finally gave it decent power, a six speed and it tops out around 156 I believe... those are really impressive numbers... plus it is a low 7-high 6 car. STOCK. I hate hionda as much as the next guy, but if this thing were a rwd I would buy one.

It's foogly... I'd never get it, even if you paid me to... there are just so many nicer cars out there, I wouldn't spend my hard earned money on it...

When I first saw the concept car for the Civic Si, I thought it was the fugliest car I'd ever seen. It looked like a shrunken 2-door minivan. Now it's actually starting to grow on me a bit. I don't think I would ever want one, but I do admit it looks better than the newer generation of Civic coupes. Those things look even worse.

It looks like a Focus and offers only minimal increases over the 99-00 Si. &nbsp;Rather than be more performance oriented, it has stayed the same. &nbsp; It also remains to be seen how much power tuners will be able to get out of the i-VTEC. &nbsp; The manifold and other parts are making it a frustrating expereince, AFIK. &nbsp; At least it's a hatch.

it is ugly, kids will buy them because they have a honda logo on them. &nbsp;someone looking into buying one of these cars should consider a 3 cylinder geo metro as well. first person i see fix one of these up, he's goin' down <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Oh yeah it still looks like shit but imagine how much cooler it will look with a big mouth bumper, clearouts, altezzas and a GT style wing! I mean how much cooler can you get? Unless maybe you put 18's on it and lowered it 3 inches. That civic has mad potential...
