Lowest seat options?

Last thread I found on this was back in 07...

What are some good options for a LOW mounted seat. I'm 6'1" and have ZERO headroom with a helmet.

1/SIDE mount bucket seat
2/bash the transmission tunnel down a bit to have the largest and lowest mount
3/good side mounts with double lock mechanism allowing mounting the bucket seat as near as the lower panel as possible
3/small width bucket seat that fits between the mounts.

1,2,3 are mandatory. If it still is too high, bash the lower panel even lower . Dont forget there is an exhaust under.

No other option.

Nothing has really changed since 07 besides seat models. The floor pan only goes so low.

If a side mount bucket and nagisa or bride Fg rail and that still isn't low enough for you your going to need to come up with your own solution. And your probably over like 6'2".

Ex, making your own little mounting brackets and fixed mount the seat to the floor with some modification. I've seen this done before but you can search yourself.

Sunroof. Or a sawzall. Maybe a combination of the two

I'm using some super fancy and expensive (not) top speed auto seats. For now, they'll have to do... They didn't come with instructions on how to mount the sliders, brackets, etc. I was able to drill some extra holes and rearrange the way I had the brackets and now I have plenty of room for my head...

but the roll cage on the top left rests against my helmet... I need to shift the seat to the right some to give me a little more room on the left side.

thanks for the responses guys.

i have a sparco sprint on my s13 solidly mounted to the floor. the seat does not have a lot of cushion so it is a lot lower than stock seats. also the mount does not have a slider and is mounted against the floor board. i think this is as low as it will get without hammering the floor board lower.

I'm not as tall as you (5'10) but I'm using these rails called "super down seat rail" that came with my car. As you can see from the pictures it gets the seat low. The bottom-back of the seat is probably 2-3 centimeters from the floor! I have a good 15 centimeters from my head to the roll bar, so about 19 centimeters from my head to the roof... I looked for the brand and unfortunately its not on these rails!!!

A similar, but expensive, brand to these is called Vanner...they also have a superwide rail too for wider seats...sorry, only in Japanese, but you might be able to find these in the states, or wherever you are.

vanner SUPER DOWN
